GEP 2012 - Class Starting P4 in 2013
-
DD received envelope on Friday, got into GEP. In a way feeling relieved as we (and others who have interacted with her) have always felt that spark in her since very young, but if she had been streamed based on her SA2 exam results, may not have ended up in strong top class. DD seems a little dsylexic - working can get the right answer, when statement is copied, the numbers flip and its 1/2 wrong. For a sum of 4 digits, she can end up adding the Ones and Tens column, but suddenly decide to minus the Hundreds and Thousands column. English, correcting the passages with spelling errors is a complete nightmare. Yet for ICAS-type exams, end up with very strong High Ds, reads voraciously, remembers facts after reading once and sometimes in a world of her own.
Any parents out there with kids who display similar behaviours?
Yet, in another way, feeling concerned about being whether DD is then able to cope, the reported lack of amount of time schools spend to prep for PSLE, and the results thereafter… -
DS is selected for GEP. We will be having a talk with DS on the work effort and requirements of GEP. One thing I know is that DS does not like to do projects. Otherwise, he has tremendous thirst for knowledge. Also, need to think about school selection....really dunno which one to choose

Glad to report my DS also is in.
Need to worry about school next, we live in the north.. My key criteria would also be distance and MT.. -
DD is selected as well and she quite like the idea of RGPS. Anyone knows if the school is moving for PRIME or anything? Most of the GEP schools seem to be undergoing PRIME now or soon.
Am not sure if DD will be able to cope with the projects as well. Sighs…big headache. -

Is this so? Can only go to CH (secondary)? Wouldn't where you go depends on results and choice?for those who studied in Catholic high primary, after PSLE can only go to catholic high and chances to go to other schools like HCI is not high? how about Rosyth, which school do they normally go to after PSLE?

Miracle Child:
I would think the affiliation to CH would make it easier to go to the sec sch side. But can still DSA and use PSLE score to apply for other schools.
