      Hi,

I am encouraging my DH to take up taiji to reduce his BP and to help him manage his stress. Any clue on the best way to start with taiji? There seem to be so many classes going on at so many places and no clue about how suitable/good these are.
      Any clues would be welcome.
      Thanks,
      Karen

        Hello!

If you live in the east, there are some free taiji lessons on the beach on weekend mornings, around where the old MacDonald’s was. Maybe nice to try out to see the suitability. Most CCs have taiji at affordable rates too.

Or if he prefers one-to-one training, I can introduce you to a lady friend who teaches - I can’t remember how much she charges, but I remember that her rates were quite reasonable. This friend is a very charitable person and wouldn’t mind talking over the phone first, without any pressure to commit anyone.

Lastly…er…I’m not sure if taiji really does lower blood pressure. I know there are lots of claims especially where something as mystical as internal energy is concerned, but I tend to lean more towards the scientific side.
