So, your boy already has a place in the school?I have been staying in my place for the past 3years+ before our family relocated to the US. We registered our boy into the school that is within 1km from my place and according to MOE regulations, we are required to provide proof of documentation when my boy start school upon our return.
However, my dad who has been wheel-chair bound for many years and my mum who has been loking after him, have expressed their wishes for us to move in with them after we return in May hence we are thinking of selling our house.
Will that pose a problem for the school if we are able to prove the genuinity of our case? -

Recently I booked a unit in a new development and was told the project will complete in 2015. However the TOP date stated in the S&P is Oct 2017. I enquire with MOE and was told that they will use the TOP date stated in the S&P strictly unless there is a chance in policy. That mean my son will not be able to use the new address to register for P1 in 2014 for a school that is just across the road.
I am puzzled why MOE used legal completion stated in S&P which is usually >2-3yrs after the TOP for most new property instead of within 1-2yr of entry to school from estimated TOP date provided by developer which is more realistic. The current trend is for developers to state a very late legal TOP date due to uncertain economic condition as well as resource constraint faced by the construction sectors.
Hopefully MOE can review the current stance else I had to send my son to a school that will be near my current address but move to the (farther) new house 6 mths later which is against the logic to encourage student to live near the school.
Maybe parents who face the same problem can also feedback to MOE so that they can review the policy. Cheers. -

Well, I think you have answered your own question in your next sentence. No? :scratchhead:davidyong:

Hi,
If your mum address is 1km then you will fall under the 1-2 km category. You can be a PV which will allow you to apply under phase 2b. In case when there is balloting, you will be joining those applicants who fall under the 1-2km categories.
If you are not a PV and still want to use your mum's address, you can only allow to apply under Phase 2C. In case when there is balloting, you will be joining those applicants who fall under the 1-2km categories as well. -

in short,
as long as you use your mother's address - you will still come under the category of \"1 to 2 km\", Not \"less than 1 km\". And you need to sign the declaration form, if you use your mother's address. -

to add, both you and spouse must be working,ie employed, if you want to use ur mother's add.Love@Depot:
