She still cant decide now. Is she still will offer a place in NYGH if she accept the NUSH offer now? She need to reply NUSH before 21st.d88p:
My girl got a place in NUSH and most likely she will get a place too in NYGH. Which one to choose? any comments?
Both are equally good.
My guess is if she is good in Chinese then NYGH.
If she is good in Maths & Science, then NUSH.
But my guess is your girl is good in Chinese, Maths & Science, right ?
Then ask her, amongst Chinese , Maths & science, which one she hates most ?
This is my guess of the head only as I don't have the luxury to have this nice \"problem\" -

One consideration could be, whether she prefers Maths/Science or Humanities subjects. In NUSH, it is compulsory for all students to take Maths & ALL 3 Sciences up to Year 4, and Maths & at least 2 Sciences in Year 5 & 6. Students can only take ONE Humanities subject in Year 3 & 4, and can choose to drop Humanities subject entirely in Year 5 & 6 (this is unlike JCs where students must take at least one contrasting subject).
If your daughter is eyeing NUS for her degree course, then NUSH may be a good choice since students (Year 6 for most students, earlier for students who accelerate and complete all NUSH modules in certain subjects before Year 6) are allowed to take NUS modules while they are in high school. Advantages - can try the NUS modules (if found not suitable, then don't take that course when finally go to NUS), can get double degree (i.e. can complete more modules than other students). -
just curious to know
When is the last day to accept the DSA offer for NUSH. Is it Dec 21?. I thought you have to accept it before the PSLE results. TIA. -
