All About Maid's passport renewal

I have just renew my indo helper passport today. The interviewer only asked 2 questions, 1) any off day? 2) how much is the salary? Everything was done within 2hrs.

Hi… I need some help please. My maid’s passport is expiring by 29 Jul 13. Her work permit is issued till 29 Jun 13. If I renewed her passport by 29 Jan 13, does it mean that I need to renew her work permit at the same time or I can wait until 29 Jun 13 to do the work permit renewal? Really appreciate some kind souls to help advise please . Thanks v much!

You can renew your maid’s passport first without having to renew her work permit but you need to update online on the MOM website her new passport number. You can only renew her work permit after you received a letter from MOM, not before.

I just renew my maid passport, Indo embassy don allow u renew her passport so early. Only can do it 1 month b4. U may want to double confirm it again.

If she is not going to be leaving the country before June then no need to renew the passport yet.

As far as I know the 6 month validity only matters if you want to travel.

My agent told me to renew my maid 's passport in March as she said it will take 6-8 weeks to get the new passport ready <– true??? My maid is Filipino. Her work permit expires 29 jun while passport expires 29 jul. I initially planned to renew the passport and work permit at the same time…in May 13.

I think the standard lead time is around 6 weeks at the moment. Not everyone is as efficient as Singapore!

Hi!anyone just recently renewed their mynmar maid’s passport?


What are the procedures?
My Mynmar maid’s passport is expiring on 1st sept.
I intend to bring her go renew end may,or early June.
Hope to get some advice from anyone who renew recently.
Coz seems like on off have changes?
