my DS said he is in 5A2 next year. FT told the class the class is randomly spilt into 5M and 5A2. Anyone noe the real reason or is this the real reason?

My girl's form teacher said the same thing. However, she added that more students from her current class would be in 3M than 3N.

So, sounds a bit contradicting to me.

His result is not that bad this year..all within the range of band 1...wonder why the spilt. Frankly, i m upset if he is not in the best class...

Why should you be upset? Is it because you believe that better teachers will be allocated to the best class? The experience I have with my boy's teachers this year tells me otherwise. :siam:

Do you know which class(es) will the Top 3 students from this year's P4 go to next year? There is nothing to be upset with if any of these top 3 students ends up in 5A2.

I do believe the best class has the best teacher. 5M this year has a good teacher, she was 3M FT last year. She is good. So, I was hoping my DS can goes %M and hoping she will be 5M FT next year but now my hopes dashes.
The top 3 are staying in 5M so I wonder what the FT said is true..I thot with all band 1 this year, he will not hv prob staying put...but I will not show my disappointment in front of him as I tink he has done his best.

Generally I think a major spilt (if necessary) would occur at end of P4. So for Dinomummy case if the very real. Maybe they want to let the P5 spilt equally in the 2 classes which is 5M & 5A2.

Asked more qns aft i came home fr work…he said, there r two position no. 2 this yr. First in class and 3rd in class go 5M while one of the position no. 2 goes 5A2. Maj staying put…he felt he was unlucky not being able to stay put…his gp of frds who r with him for the past yrs r staying put. Guess he feel a bit lonely gg to a new class.

Hope he can get over it n adapt to the new class. I hv to accept it too…just that i m used to M…

Best let the child decides on its own. By putting Chinese Orchestra as 2nd choice & it Girl Brigade no chance get in, very likely she would kanna Chinese Orchestra. This ECA would follow them in the next 4 yours so consider make your choice wisely. :gloomy:


Maybe you may want to check with the teacher in charge of Girls Brigade if demand > supply would it be a balloting?

Dino mummy, the most important thing is parental support. Your boy will be able to get over the disappointment as long as you are always behind him.

Good for you and your girl. Am sure she will enjoy her CCA as it will be one that she indicated in the form.

BTW, I heard that the top student for P2 this year comes from 2B. Did your girl mention anything? Also, does your girl know how many from 2B will be going to 3M and 3N?

My daughter told me that the top student this year is from 2B. This student is also top in maths and English. Top student for chinese is from 2A. Top student in Malay is from 2D. She said she didn’t hear her teacher mention anything about how many in her class going to 3M n 3N.
