some parents seem to focus on experiments and hands on when it comes to science for their dcs. but for me and also as advised by some good tutors i met, they suggest for more technical skills and answering skills, because you need to apply all these in exams in schools to do well. some children might just enjoy experiments for the fun of it, but have little takeaway from the experiments.

        CNS:
I will be checking Newton Apple in the east. Will update here again.

Went for the briefing last Saturday. According to them, no notes will be provided. However, kids will be given a blank piece of paper where the teacher will try to conceptualise the pointers to the kids by getting them to draw on the blank piece of paper. Rest of the lesson will be doing the MCQs and answering techniques.

May work for some but unfortunately, dun think it will work for my gal.. continue sourcing again. :xedfingers:

Agreed. Experiments are fun but not every child is aware of what the takeaway is. It feels almost like the school is not teaching anything at all. Every day is a blur as they do not seem to know what is going on.

I feel that after going one big round, the way which works for my kids is the traditional way. I personally prefer the tutors who are old school in their way of teaching. Even my kids feel that there is more value add in attending their lessons.

I know of a really good tutor from tuition centre @ Holland area. She's one of the best kept secrets, many high ability kids under her in my DS's school but parents kiasu or selfish, don't want to recommend. Slowly one by one quit own tuition and switch to her. After I sent my son to her, I see why the kids love her, very inspiring. Can pm u if you don't mind the travel.

Anyone can recommend any Science tuition for P4? Location prefer to be around Bukit Merah but I do not mind travelling if the centre is super super good.
