Ok I'm glad you re a marathoner yourself so proper diet is crucial.
Yes agreed no banana no energy....Lol...its also cheap πŸ™‚ Gu and Nuun are energy gel so not recommended for kids ya πŸ™‚
Not recommended sugary drink for or during training cos sugar spike make one tired after awhile? Sugary drink will also makes u thirsty. Maybe add abit of water to your sport drink like pocari or Gatorade if you must if not
..in between for your girl best it's water since they dun cover high mileage!
I am not exactly a marathoner... just running for completion and more importantly, finisher tees.....

Thanks for your advice. I will let my girl bring a bottle of plain water for training.

Cereal with skimmed milk, baked bean with toast, Banana, noodle/pasta/rice, tuna sandwich are highly recommended. Banana is a must as its a solid fruit for energy:) In marathon they only give free banana ard the 22km that's where most runners are out of energy :))
There are many other food rich in energy n carbo ya...
        hi,
but isn't banana a laxative food?
what if it makes you want to go when you are half way into a race?

One month into competitive training… I noticed a few things:

                    1. She has grown taller.
                    2. Her shoulders are slightly wider.
                    3. She is a shade darker (due to her 4 days swim camp)
                    4. She is more independent, showering and changing after training, packing her stuff.
                    5. She has formed good relationships with her team mates.
                    6. Her agility, cardiovascular strength and endurance has improved.
                    7. She sleeps better at night after training.

Happy with her progress so far and most importantly, she is happy too!

                      Hi Friends,

I just need a bit of perspective, my 6 year old son does 23s for 25m freestyle, is that fast or slow in general ?
                      Thanks in advance.
