            KSP:

maybe some ppl here already know... but just want to share some info on HMT i discovered only recently..

            The additional points to T-score
            distinction - 3 pts
            merit - 2 pts
            pass - 1 pt

ONLY for top 30% of the students AND apply to SAP Sec schools

Hi KSP, thanks for the info. I do learn about the T-score for HMT but what do you mean by only for top 30% ? Can elaborate more? Thanks!

From the MOE website, it says that \"Pupils in the top 30% of the PSLE cohort who take Higher Chinese at the PSLE will be given bonus points for admission to SAP schools according to the following table:
            Higher Chinese Grade Bonus Point

            Distinction - 3
            Merit - 2
            Pass - 1

From the info i gathered here, the COP for the top 30% is around 240+ and vary slightly every year.

eg. if a student scored 230 (not top 30%) with distinction for HCL will not be given bonus pts when applying for SAP sch.

Is this a new arrangement ? It should be for all, in accordance to their score in HCL but is only recognise in SAP schools. I have confirmed this fact with the school teachers and with live examples from my frenz kids, cousins etc…

don't think this is something new.... here's the MOE website under Bonus Points for Admission to Special Assistance Plan (SAP) Schools

                    http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/secondary-one-posting/option-exercise/option-form/

maybe your friends' kids and cousins are among the top 30%, ie. above 24++.....

Cannot be. Anyway, calling MOE for clarification now. Will update.

Clarified. Yes, it is true that only top 30% and btw, most of the SAP schools would have cutoff points above the top 30% 😞 😓
