im checking out the heguru & happy train (waiting for their email replies).. not much info on heguru.. happy train is rather similar to Shichida.. and it's much cheaper..

How much cheaper? Sometimes think a class will help me to be more disciplined :rotflmao:

happy train is abt 660 per term with $70 1 time registration fee. Shichida is 800 plus per term with 300 deposit & $50 registration fees per year. This is fees for weekend class

Was having lunch with a friend couple of days ago and both she and her daughter went wide-eyed  when chubs said, \"Hmmm scrumptious....\" after digging into his lunch!

I started 1 yr before registration.

I am trying to register my boy for playgroup in 2013 but seems like everywhere is full already šŸ˜ž how early must we start looking out for schools? I heard some even register their babies before they are born. I am staying around Simei.

At this time of the year, most of the better centres are usually filled up and if they have waiting list at all, it would be equally long too. If you are kiasu enuff or have been wanting to put your children in a reputable / sought after preschool, then yes, registration can be like a year earlier.

My chubs is not attending playgroup. šŸ˜‰

Are you a FTWM or SAHM?

I am a FTWM, if i cant get into play group next year. I will register for nursery 1 (2014). This is so stressful........ my frenz with similar age kids are already in playgroups.

Cant imagine when it's time to register primary school.. perhaps need to start reading up now.. haha

If you wish to register your child in your or your hubby's alma mater, then there's not much preparation you need to do. Just wait for the announcement of the registration date for your phase. If you are aiming for a very popular school or school with history of balloting then yes you will need to read up now.
and act soon too, depending on the course of action you decide to take. šŸ˜‰

During my time, I started to prepare when dd1 was 4 yos becos my alma mater was too far and hubby's was closed. So I had to find more abt the schools in my area. Even then some PV applications were closed liao for my dd1's yr šŸ˜‚

I was hoping to go for St Hildas Pri which is one of the more popular school in Tampines area. After reading the other threads about the school i think i have very low chance since i am from St Hildas Sec and not the primary and i am not staying within 2 km....

Guess i need to start doing homework for other schools ...... My Alma mater is a Girls school and my kid is a boy and my husband's alma mater is not as reputable šŸ˜ž

Then that means you have a lot of groundwork to do and also you need to be more kiasu now. Distance over preferred these days, may still require PV. šŸ˜ž

                        little pudding,

All the best in your search of a primary school. I read that some primary schools have stopped PV prog for those born in 2008. I do not know if they will have PV application later on. So it's better to research earlier so that you can decide what are your options and your course of actions.

Bb will go to the same school as her siblings. But I will cheer you on when it's our turn to register. :rahrah:
