:faint:Daddy

Last time and now... different service standards?
Cos' cheaper labour?
Can the staff read English a not?
Scarli not even PSLE English standard...
:yikes:
:siam:
The mother is supposed to be asked to chk the name and I/C before putting the tags on the bb.
Hmmmmmm not knowing the nationality of the mothers involved in this incident. Maybe the prog cannot print Chinese characters or print other language in the proper style?

I was under ga when I deliver. Before ga, I was asked to check my tags and told that they would transfer one to my baby when the procedure was done. According to my hubby who was waiting outside the op threater, he said the nurse asked him to verify the particulars on my tag before they put it on onto my baby.jtoh:
The problem was that the baby was mistakenly tagged from the start with two different tags. If so, the baby might have been given to the wrong mother even during the nursing stage.
I delivered eldest at KKH. I remembered the nurse asking me to verify the tags before putting them on the baby.
I don't know what's the procedure if the mother is under GA.
Still it's frightening to know that there's a possibility that a wrong tag could be used. -
jtoh:
What's written on the tag? I just vaguely remember something like 'BABY TAN'. Is the mother's IC there?
It's the mother's nric and full name.
And I remembered there were two tags on my baby. Both with my name and nric number.
Other than an obvious negligence somewhere in kkh, I am curious - didn't the parents noticed their babies \"look different\"?
We didn't have any problem identifying our child back then. Even if without the birth mark and when he was sleeping when the nurses brought him over to my ward. Earlier on, I had mentioned that my child had a unique birth mark that apparently runs in hubby's family(among the two younger generations) and how hubby had thought he was looking at his father's eyes when he first saw our baby. -

He didn't give birth. After giving birth 3 times, how I wish men can. :offtopic:
So just like conception need both hands to clap, the process of tagging the babies need 2 hands to clap too. Both hospital and parents need to ensure that the right baby is with the right parents. The hospital and staff need to ensure they have a good SOP and carry it out rigorously. While the parents need to chk, chk and chk. -

Way I read the report. The correct tag was put on the baby when in the delivery suite. However, one of the tags came off and was lost. The nurse on duty replaced the tag but replaced a wrong tag as such the wrong baby was sent home with the wrong family. The thing I cannot reconcile is how did the 2nd baby get sent home wrongly as well since the baby's tags were supposed to be correct.jtoh:
Question is how come they printed THREE tags for Baby one?
Baby one, the one who had a right and wrong tag had 2 tags.
The qn is why the mother didn't notice the wrong tag was put on the baby. Is it becos she was not asked to chk both tags before they were put on the bb? -

U want to start another thread war is it?
He's dissing the staff, not the parents.
If I am going write all my views on all parties, it will take more than a paragraph and waste a lot of my time.
Use some common sense when u read post next time.
So chill lah.
We cannot agree to disagree.
