Way I read the report. The correct tag was put on the baby when in the delivery suite. However, one of the tags came off and was lost. The nurse on duty replaced the tag but replaced a wrong tag as such the wrong baby was sent home with the wrong family. The thing I cannot reconcile is how did the 2nd baby get sent home wrongly as well since the baby's tags were supposed to be correct.
I read the article again. I have a different understanding from yours.SAHM_TAN:
Question is how come they printed THREE tags for Baby one?
Baby one, the one who had a right and wrong tag had 2 tags.
The qn is why the mother didn't notice the wrong tag was put on the baby. Is it becos she was not asked to chk both tags before they were put on the bb?

\"The two newborns look similar, he added\" ... :yikes:

Curious, where did the nurse get the wrong tag from? Since the other bb had both correct tags on him. The nurse couldn't find the fallen tag so reprinted a wrong tag? -
I did. DD had a birthmark over her left eye and she looked exactly like DH. DS hardly left my side. And he has a Montblanc flower shaped birthmark on his butt cheek so when in doubt look for that. But he was easy to recognise as well cos he had huge round eyes and very brown hair.

he he he..I thought mothers can definitely differentiate/recognise their babies from others..
my son has long jet black hair (can actually comb through..few inches long) and a birth mark on the stomach (got it from my genes) and also another birthmark on the left feet..
my hubby was bit panicked about baby mix-up or exchange, and tried to memorize these birth marks..Every time the nurse brought in the baby for feeding.. he will check these out

Ya... The picture illustration by ST was easier to understand.

Thus don't understand why Baby B with correct tag, was brought back home by Parents A.
Only thought was Parents A couldn't read English.
Luckily Parents B found out instead. -
I can't differentiate :rotflmao: My babies doesnt have birthmarks lor or really any outstanding features for me to latch on. Maybe I'm just too blur :rotflmao: So I make sure I scruntised the tags. After the nurse put the tags on the bb, the nurse also showed me my tagged bb heehee
I better suggest to my kids, in case they inherit my recognition challenged genes, to bring along a non-toxic inked stamp and chop in their babies buttocks :rotflmao:
