      Hi there,

Can anyone advice me what I should do?
My girl has just been accepted into MGS.
She will be p5 next year.

I'm happy but at the same time worried.
I have tried since p2 to get her in but failed.
Finally she got in but I'm worried about
the girls there. Are they friendly and nice?
      Or snobbish?

I told myself I can't miss this opportunity yet
worried that socially she can't adjust.

Not worried about academics as I can help her but
      socially.
Does anyone know how many new girls get
      transfer in every year?

      She's also very undecided.

I'm worried her PSLE score from another Sch
will not get her in to MGS sec.

      Any advice?

      Please check your PM.

        Hi MGS Moms and Educators,

I have 2 MGS newcomers under my wing in 2013. One in P3 and the other P4. Parents have asked me how the banding of the classes work. If it’s not to inconvenient, may I ask some parents here about what they know? PM or open forum is fine.

        Love,
        moomel

streaming done at which level -

is it done end of P2 and end of P4, so that (P3 and P4) remain same class and (P5 and P6) same class ?

how many top classes in MGS - P4 to P6?
how they allocate pupils into different classes ?

                  Hi,

I'll be joining the MGS family in 2013.
My DD will be transferring to P3 next year.
I've some pressing questions that I need clarification with.
                  - When does MGPS stream the gals, is it P2 or P3 end?
-How many top classes are there besides the SBC classes and do you know which are the classes?

I'm excitedly looking forward to the orientation on the 30 Nov 2012....wish me all the best 😉

                    Hi Family,

Any advise for the newcomers to MGS?
We're concern about how streaming and banding will be carried out in the school?
Not sure whether this concerns will be addressed during our up-coming orientation.

                      Hi sharm71,

                      Welcome to the MGS Family!

Streaming starts from end P2. The SBC class starts only from P4. There are 2 High Ability and 4 Mixed Ability classes next year for P3. You can ask the school during Orientation for more details.

                      God bess!

I am also an old girl of MGS. My experience was mixed. There were snobbish kids, there were also very friendly schoolmates who are still my friends now even though we were never in the same class before. I love MGS for it’s teachers and it’s activities. The school is always abuzz with a performance, a talent-time, a drama fest etc. It was lovely. I graduated in 1998 and still hold much fervor for my alma mater. Surely this is the school my future girls will go to.
