Anderson Secondary School

My husband guides my daughter Science. Based on the worksheets that my daughter is doing, he said the school teaches all the basic for Physics, Chemistry and Biology. She will learn in depth when she is in upper secondary.
Anderson had given sufficient worksheets for every subject, so i did not buy assessment books for my daughter. Moreover, she does not have much time too, so i prefer her to rest or revise her work after she finishes her homework. I only buy assessment book that she said she need it, or I will buy reference book instead.
For Science, I have bought O-level Chemistry at your fingertips, O-level Biology at your fingertips by EPH. These are reference books recommended by my sis-in-law.
I also bought Lower secondary Science Conceptual Exercises 1 & 2 by GLM (for sec 1 & 2).
Hope the above helps. -
I am glad that I put my DS in Anderson. They aim for overall development of the students instead of just focusing at their scores. The teachers are friendly according to my DS. He has just completed the Sec 1 …not sure of the stress levels in the next 3 years. But overall we are satisfied with the school

Hi PSLEmom,
can you advise whether Anderson provides ample opportunities for the students for CCA. My DS is keen on Anderson but I'm concerned whether
there is good variety and development of the students in the CCA area :boogie:

Just want to share my personal experience. Last year, on Sec 1 Orientation day, we bought lots of exercise books based on the school book list but ended up just use 1 of the following:
Bought - 12 x A5 single line ex. book LEFT 11
- 8 x A4 single line ex.book LEFT 7
My advise is really that you only buy the exercise book when your teacher ask you to buy.
Also you do not need to buy the calculator, Math teacher will allow you to use your existing one. -
Dear experienced PSLE parents,
Does my daughter stands a chance in getting into Anderson Sec Sch with the score of 242, the COP is 245. How is the successful rate of appeal in the 3 points difference? I know it all depends on the applicants. Thanks in adv.
A dilemma parent. 242 neither here or there. Stays AMK. Traveling time is one concern for selection. -
my dd got 251, a pass for HCL and offer a HCL, will Anderson offer HCL in Sec or is there a limited classes for HCL in Anderson?

Doraemon70, you can try.
LindaYong, you might want to call the school and ask. Or go to their open house tomorrow from 9am-1pm and enquire. -
