2015 P1 Registration Exercise for 2016 In-Take
-
Dear all mummies and daddies,
My DS will be entering P1 in 2016. I was from Kong Hwa School and currently staying within 1km from Maha Bodhi. If you were me, would you take the risk and register for Maha Bodhi or straightaway register for KHS? I definitely hope DS can get into MBS because of the walking distance to school. However, rather worried if too many kids staying within 1km and requires balloting for the limited vacancies, and DS suay suay not chosen then it would be too late to register for KHS.
Appreciate all advices. -
how far is kong hwa frm your house? if not very far, i will prefer to go back to my own sch.

Hi pkum,
I’m staying at Ubi Ave 1. A bit of distance to KHS if taking public transport. -

pls go back to Kong Hwa (Phase 2A).Dear all mummies and daddies,

if you risk balloting Phase 2C in Maha Bodhi - you'll end up with nothing, in the event you're balloted out. -
Thanks for the invaluable advice! Definitely will register DS under phase 2A to secure a place in KHS. Just got to sacrifice a bit of sleep and wake up earlier to send DS to school.

yes to add on.. KHS is quite a good school right, in the event u still want your kid to be in MB. maybe u got chance to transfer him back... -
Hi all, im reporting here as well! so excited to find this chat group!
I would like to think that im not a kiasu mum but i think i just cant help being kiasu! haha.
I have narrowed down my school choices to 3:
1) Maha Bodhi
pros: hubby is an old boy there so can register under phase 2A2
cons: distance (we live in seng kang)
2) Rivervale Primary
pros: within 1km
cons: have to do PV and not sure if can get in or if will have time to fulfill all the hours with working full-time and having 2 young kids
3) Nan Chiau Primary
pros: within 1km
cons: have to either join hokkien HK (which I heard from my friend that i may be too late cos apparently it takes a few years??) or PV (again not sure if can get in as I heard they prefer SAHM and if have time to fulfill all 80 hours).
Also with RVPS and NCPS, not sure if PV will guarantee us a place even though we stay within 1km… Seng kang and punggol population is really growing very fast and with these popular schools going single session soon, i suspect balloting might take place even for <1km under phase 2B by 2015 registration. My hubby is for the idea of enrolling in Maha Bodhi cos its relatively stress free, but Im afraid the travelling 10km plus will tire the kids out…
any advice? -
They don’t call this site Kiasuparents for nothing.
Reporting in for my DS1 as well. Can get DS1 into TKPS under P2A2, but our 1st choice is TNS. We are planning to move back to the east and will buy within 1km if got good chance for Phase 2C at TNS.
Need advice from experienced parents out there!! -

TNS for phase 2C is quite bad. Even within 1km need to ballot. My DH colleague's son is not able to get in this year under 2C despite that the distance is within 1KM.They don't call this site Kiasuparents for nothing.

If possible, try to target for phase 2B. If phase 2B balloting failed, you can still go for phase 2C balloting. -

my daughter is born in 2008, registering pri 1 in 2015.
If you register in 2015, you are 1 year too late.
