When New Singaporeans take same papers with same scoring they are 13 to 15 years old, so I would be quite stressed if I am 12 years old and taking same exam with older kid with secondary brains.Funz:

No good to confirm leh. If he/she is New or non-Spore then people will say unfair because they are more matured. If he/she is Old or Ancient and from wealthier parts of the country people say unfair need to be wealthy to afford a house near the school or can afford a lot of tuition. Best is not publish to avoid complaints.

It's the parents who want to try by all means to remove any possible obstacle to that their child might face who stress themselves over this.
And seriously, if given a choice you think parents will want to let their child wait till they are a year or more older than the rest of the cohorts to take the exam? If anything, I think it is a disadvantage to them rather than an advantage. They lose a few years. -

Allowing students to retake PSLE will lead to overcrowding in top schools and students disappearing from lousier schools when students starts transferring out of the lousy schools after getting better PSLE results. I don't think certain school compounds can take so many old and new sec ones. :scratchhead:

The solution may be to scrap IP program so that parents and students won't stressed over scoring 3 points or less out of 6 subjects at O level to get into top JCs and scrap DSA (which may be happening as they scrap banding of SYF) and stop overage students from taking PSLE to create a level playing field for all students. :celebrate: -

You may get 280 and enter top school to study sec 1 but your friends in uni or even married and have kids already. If you take PSLE later some of your friends children will be your classmate. :yikes:
