      Joy:
BIO shown to me are mostly lampung and I prefer maid not to be from west java

My current and previous Indon maids (both are very good) are both from Surabaya. I also have relatives in Surabaya, so when my maid need to send money home or buy things for their family, my relatives can help.

I personally think the hometown is not a determine factor as if a maid is good or not.

It is individual character and attitude :celebrate:

          Hi Joy,

My first maid was from lampung. Not sure if all of them (from lampung) are the same but my first maid was a lazy person and live like a QUEEN during her 1 1/2 year with us. Following were her bad-comings.

          1) She took nap when no one were at home. We didn't gave her permission to take nap.
          2) She quarrelled with my dad very often. Extremely rude to my dad.
          3) Everyday watched TV until 12am to 1am. Well...... most of the time she is sitting in the living room or bedroom watching TV.
          4) Refuse to follow instruction.
          5) When we were holding party at home, she is also having her own party with the other maids (my friends's maid). Well..... She is suppose to help out clearing all the dirty plates and cups or clean up the place but she didn't. In the end, mu husband and I were the ones cleaning up the house and clearing the mess.
          6) Can't be bother to clean up the house. Our floor was so damn sticky & stink.
          7) We have been very patient with her and even spent time teaching her how to cook chinese cuisine yet she insisted in cooking \"rojak\" for us.
8.) Impatient. When my children refuse to eat (in fact my kid need someone to feed her patiently), this maid simply hack care. Under her care, my girl went from bubbly to skinny.
          9) Don't know if she is lazy. She can never remember all the tasks we told her to perform. Everyday we were asking her why this and that not done.
          10) Pretend not to hear when we talked to her or simply ignore us.

Our 2nd maid was from Surabaya. Thumb Up for her. All of us (even our friends) feel that she can be a politician if she hold a higher qualification. She is very hardworking, cheerful, smart.....etc. However, she is the same as our 1st maid. Refuse to follow instruction. Ordering us around (maybe she is older than us). Take us for granted. Easily influence by other maid in our neighbourhood.

Above are only for your reference. Decision still lies in you.

Frankly speaking, not all the maids from the same province are the same. Recently, when we were searching for new maid (from filipino) and also our 1st time employing filipino maid. We will been informed by one of the maid agency to choose filipino maid from ILOILO, Philippines as all the maids there are hardworking. Not true loh. This is one of the review for maid from ILOILO -> http://singaporemaidcomments.blogspot.com/2009/02/evangeline-reubal-dillo-filipino.html

I would say right now employing maid are all depending on our luck.

Good luck in your maid searching !

              Hi Fionong

              Thanks for your feedbacks.

I refused to hire maid from lampung as too many friends have such bad experience with maids from there. That is the reason why I do not want to take the gamble.

Even an indo friend told me not to take maids from that area.

Yes, bottom line is still luck.I still yet to make any bet as in selecting the maid, cos dare not gamble when I have no faith in the bios...

              Rgds

Same here. I even intend to tahan until her 2 year contract finished. But I snap one day (3.5 mth only)

We have soup for dinner everyday. My maid will heat it up when I return from work. That evening, we had curry chicken with pratha, so no soup. She still stupidly heat up an empty pot. :x :x :x wat would u do if u were me??? Ta boleh tahan & she is OUT!!!
