From Sheraton you need to take the mono rail (not free) to the Maihama station to take trains to other parts of Tokyo. I am not sure whether there is any feeder bus from the hotel to Maihama Station (I know some other hotels do). From Maihama, i takes about 20min to Tokyo station, 30min to Shinjuku station.

I am also planning to use Sheraton Bay as my base to visit the park and also Tokyo. We will only spend only 1 day at Disneysea and remaining time covering Tokyo. I know the room is big and will accomodate all 4 of us which is a plus point and I do not want to lose time using 2 hotels. My concern is the travelling to city area, is it always crowded ,will there be a lot of walking to get to train lines etc?
We usually stayed in the city for a few days before moving to Sheraton for another 2-3 nights. In fact you will save time staying at 2 hotels. You can check in to Sheraton at the visitor centre just next to the Maihama Station, and go straight to the Disney parks, without having to go to the hotel. -

Been to Tokyo twice. Within this city, it's easy to move around, but you'll have to do research on the places you wish to visit (use maps, addresses are quite useless), if you're not familiar with the language. The natives are pretty nice though so you can ask them for directions if you get lost. Tokyo is kind of far from Osaka, you'll need to take the night bus or the shinkansen. So it depends on whether you're willing to spend the money. If cost is not a problem, then transport is easy XDAnyone familiar with tokyo and osaka? Planning to go free n easy to both places and hoping to visit disneyland and universal studio. Don't know whether is it possible and easy to move around ?
Thanks.
Also, I recommend DisneySea over Disneyland. DisneySea is gorgeous and the rides are more exciting. But avoid going to either Disneyland or DisneySea on weekends. On weekdays, they are already teemed with people (do Tokyoites not have school or work? =_=) so weekends are undoubtedly more crowded. -
Would like to share my first trip to Tokyo, Japan. Quite easy to navigate the different subway.
Stayed in Keio Plaza at Shinjuku and Tokyo Hilton Bay respectively.
Day 1 : Sanrio Puroland via Keio line
Day 2 : Hakone via Odakyu line
Day 3 : Asakusa, Ueno & Harajuku via Metro
Day 4 : DisneySea
Day 5 : Disneyland
Day 6 : Kidzania at Toyosu & Odaiba -

Last year when i travel to Hokkiado Free and Easy with DH and 2 kids. S$2K was not enough at all. Maybe you might want to change a bit more, or you can bring some Sing Dollars to change at the hotel you stay in. -

Hi auntieM
The nearest Ski Resort to go from Tokyo is Appi Kogen Ski Resort.Bought my 2 kids there in 2010.
Take a shinkansen from Tokyo station to Morioka station ( 2 Hours travel time). From there, there will be shutter bus to the resort. The Resort is only open in Mid Dec. There is a kids area where kids are being look after. -

BTW,maybe u should look for hotels which are near to train station.Especially, around \"Tokyo station\"and \"Shinjuku Station\".This 2 station is the main station where transfer are done.especially Tokyo station.
