Hello P1 parents,
Urgent message from PVPS:
There is going to be a P1 ‘parents-school meeting’ to discuss the holistic approach adopted this year.
The meeting is on this Friday at 7 PM ( 19th October) at PVPS.
They would like the participation of as many P1 parents as possible.
If any of you can make it, could you please confirm here or send an sms to me (96216893)
Thanks,
Uma -
Just to check if anyone knows if mr ng (wear specs) still around in pvps?

Dear all..
Anyone knows what is the highest psle score in pvps this year?

Hi my son is going to P1 next year (2014) and will register him at PVPS.
I wish to know more about this school -
Hi,
My place is within 1km of whitesands primary and my son is due for primary 1 in 2014. However, i am a working mum and my parents who are staying just 5 mins away from pvps will be taking care of my boy. Based on reputation, whitesands primary will be my first choice. However, i quite like what i read from pvps website and i am also looking for more choices of cca for my boy. Does anyone has any feedback on pvps and its cirruculum? Whitesand primary has an expressions class where they select students who excel in english for trinity exams which i am quite impressed. Still undecided though cos my boy will have to be in afternoon session for P1 then.any thoughts from parents out there? -
hi,
both my kids are in PVPS (P4 & P1).
It was a similar dilemma for me years ago, between choosing a \"better\" school (further), & this neighbourhood school (nearer).
Partly due to balloting etc, we decided to go for convenience. Till today, I'm just so glad abt the \"convenience\" aspect ^^
I'm glad to say both kids settled well there quickly & are happy. My son is one who dont really excel in sports but did well academically without much supervision from P1-3. It boost his confidence a lot when he was selected to be in the \"best\" performing class for P3 & P4.
The computer club (a CCA) he chose, also exposes him to more IT stuff beyond his age & peers.
My daughter in P1 is also doing well so far, though I have to put in more effort in coaching her in her studies. She's happy with the involvement of Drama, which is a yearly affair for their school concert (for the P1 cohort).
So, all in... I've begun to believe, that each schools will have their merits. And, it's up to the parents to talk more with the kids, & find out how they r doing... & be \"aware\" of the opportunities the school has... so that when the right one comes along, they are ready to be a part of it.
Hope this helps

The highest score for the most recent PSLE is 266. There are a total of 3 students scoring above 260 and I think close to 15 students join Dunman High on IP program- this include those who join on DSA

Thanks for the feedback. Guess it makesit harder since we are within 1km of whitesands primary and when i called up he school they say should have no problem getting in. Its like u forgo the chance when others are trying to get in to a good school. Hope i am not making a wrong decision for my boy. Fingers crossed!! ..
