      Tano:
      no worries 🙂

actually there was once i had a bad cough & req antibiotics. Dr gave me amoxicillin & told me to stop bf for 5days (my bb more than 6mths then). I continued bf, cos this drug is considered safe for lactaction.

Nihauma, can i check ur feeding schedule? ur bb is younger than mine.
my girl only has 3X milk each day now. if i stop pump, ie either she has bm 2X a day or i supplem w fm (5pm feed while i am working).
Hi tano, u see, i am staying at home so i do not really follow any scheDule. I feed her whenever she wants it. generally it would be wake up, before mid morning nap, b4 afternoon nap, evening and before night sleep. She gets to drink whenever she wants at night too when she wakes up at night since she sleeps with me. If we r outside the freq is less.

I think ur objective is to stop pumping but worry about ur milk supply dropping or ur bb doesnt get enough milk. If it is the latter u should not worry cause she can get supp from solid food and/or fm. And since our body adjust the milk supply based on demand ur milk supply will decrease accordingly but enough for ur bb.

      Does this help?

Re diarrhea and breastfeeding. I do not recall having stop breastfeeding when my children had diarrhea. I do recall that the doctor give lacteol forte (sachets, containing lactobacillus) to be mixed into a bit of water and give. To fight the bad bacteria causing diarrhea. So far, the doctor’s approach seem to be mixed. If you stop breastfeeding, you would need to cook rice water (like cooking porridge but with extra water)… drain the rice water and keep in in a flask. Feed it to the baby all day long. Same works for older kids and adults, too.

Remember to keep your milk supply constant by pumping regularly.

Nihauma, u are spot on on my concerns.

My girl practically refuse to take the bottle. She has to be fed using small cup, sometimes unreluctantly when i am away at work.
i cosleep w her too. so other than the times i am at work, she feed on demand too including thru the night. she gave me a terrible night last night!

            thanks for chatting!

Tano my bb refused bottle too so it is giving me headache cause i wish to go back to work. If u r feeding by demand then u shouldnt worry at all. I had a friend whose bb refused bottle and didnt eat anything during the day but latched on for hours when her mother came back from work in the evening!!!!

cos if i don pump=no more bottled bm at 5pm while i am at work, or shld i supplem w fm at 5pm (though i knw she will be struggling to take).

aiyaya… these bb hav us wrapped ard their fingers!

too tired… i haven’t had a full night rest since she is born.

& want to minimise any disturbance to my work.
