But my feeling is different from yours, I feel girls have advantage over boys throughout primary, at least up to PSLE - how?
You know har, when my kid was born in Jan, I thot he'd have advantage over his peers. Then I realized it was the case only for the first 5 years... :razz:concern2:
Since you guys are at it....how about a compensating multipler factor for kids who are born in the later part of the year.
Eg, kids born in Dec shall have a multipler of 1.1 x the T-score. That will compensate for the disparity between the Dec kids and the Jan kids. The rest of the month shall be reduced proportionally. Yeah?
Surely this is a fair proposal for the disadvantaged younger kids taking the PSLE.
Also hor, since we are on this, I feel girls have advantage over boys in lower primary - then how?
Ya lor, ya lor, I see some P5 boys still so ginna and gong gong, but P5 girls already so mature...

When you take PSLE as a 12 year old girl vs. 14 year old girl, no amount of compensation factor can make the younger one as matured. Talking about hotter girls of course. :yikes:
Then we add on a Maturity Compensating Factor. All Girls gets a 0.9 regardless of any other conditions!! :evil:Nebbermind:

Cannot...this one sure got many under-declare!! The parents accelerating their kids to maybe Sec3 material and calmly said 'no tuition'!!
Can I have a go, Tuition Compensation Factor? All those who have tuition get 0.9, the exact factor is adjusted depending on number of tuitions received.

ha! 14 yr old girls can have other distraction to help to naturally compensate the age advantage! :imanangel:

What if your mother is a PhD holder and can tutor you in all 4 subjects plus much more. No tuition, you know. So what kind of compensation factor?

wonderm , I was thinking of the same thing too.
Also, SAHP Compensating Factor of 0.9
And my DD would like to include a Genetic Compensating Factor (lets level the playing field, the children did not get to choose their parents what!) . She thinks her T-score would just double with this
Children with parents whose average IQ is less than 100 will have a
Genetic Compensating Factor of 1+ (0.01 X number of points less )
And
Children with parents whose average IQ is more than 100 will have a
Genetic Compensating Factor of 1- (0.01 X number of points more) -
