VC's mum, you are a treasure trove of statistics.
How are you daughters doing? Haven't seen them online for some time. -
The school didn't reveal the number of students scoring 240 and above. Unless it's a teacher from Nyps who says it, I'm not going to believe it. The school's average t-score is 239. If 87% scored 240 and above, the average should be higher than 239, I thought.
Rains, do you happen to have percentage of quality passes (A/A*) for NYPS 2012? Do you know 2011 average?
what's the average mean score for Nanyang Mainstream (ignore GEP) -
both 2011 and 2012 ?
also %tage of Quality passes (A/A*) for 4 subjects, both years ?
I'm sorry but I don't have these stats. The school does not break down the % quality passes for GEP vs mainstream. I only know that there are 4 classes of GEP, meaning there are 100 GEP kids. When I said 34% of the kids got 250 and above, I was excluding the 100 GEP kids and assuming that every one of the 100 GEP kids got 250 and above (which is not necessarily true).
I only remember a few numbers from what the vp said on the result-release day becos they stuck in my head eg. 234 kids got 250 and above, 490 kids took the exam, average t-score for the cohort is 239, 100% pass in English. I was already screaming in my heart to want my child's results instead of listening to all these talks about how great the school did. Who cares how fantastic your school does if my kid does not get good results? -
Ya lor, janet, with the amount of time , energy and money spent on psle, I ve neglected the other children and cooking etc. yes, it's :stupid: ..
Anyway, we ve moved on, but still got to reflect and to learn from mistakes. So as to best help the following psle candidates, me and dd2. Hahaha
..
Let's give ourselves a good break, reflect, move on, pray for the best in their next phase of education. -

Now with school holidays, I am dysfunctional to a certain degree as both of them are at home. Managed to vacuum floor this morn...hair and dust on white flooring. -
DD got 251 +2 and listed Cedar O level as 1st choice. Wonder if I should put St. Nic IP as first choice

Thanks, Dreamgear!
In view of that, maybe should just let it be and hope she can join the IP of Cedar in Secondary 3 as it will be linked to VJC. As for St Nic, the JC is still unknown. -

Unfortunately, you are now unable to amend your choices as it's long after Wednesday 3pm.But St Nic is rather far from our home. That was why I put Cedar as 1st and now ...:(
