Also recently my girl received a certificate of academic acheivement for being the top 25% for P1 in Nan chiau primary and this is sent out from the sengkang grassroot together with the application form for bursary. However i think the application form for bursary is tied in with cap in the monthly household income so i dun think we are eligible for the bursary. Just to check if this certificate is given to all children in the same level like top 10%, top 15% all the way until top 40%?

Edusave Merit Bursary (EMB) is for child who is within the top 25% of each level in his school.
Gross monthly household income must not exceed $5,000 or per capita income is not exceeding $1,250 (computed based on the gross monthly household income divided by the number of household members).
        $200 for Primary 1 to 3
        http://www.moe.gov.sg/initiatives/edusave/funds-grants-awards/
Btw, care to share you girl's score? High 90%?
        Thanks.

My girl maths and Chinese are on the high 90% and English on the high 80%.

Just went to buy tshirts n shoes this a.m when collecting e books. Both r in classrooms side by side near gate B.
          Uniform's operating days n opening hrs r e same as bookshop's .

My friend ordered name tags on last day of term 4 n told wont b ready when sch opens. Just now helped her check, still no definite date bcos of peak period, so I m going to unstitch e old tags n use them on e new tshirts instead.

P1-P4 only top 25% will qualified for bursary,

you should be looking at p5-p6 standard whereby only top 5% qualified for edusave scholarship
            It's top 10% for p5-6, according to e letter. πŸ™‚

              Hi,

Need to check with the parents here. My girl's classmates have been giving out party favours during their birthday and my girl's birthday falls on the first week of January and i am not sure if i can prepare some simple birthday favours for her whole class. Her P1 teachers this year are okay with the birthday favours but not sure starting P2, the teachers will be unhappy about it? If I want to give, do i have to bring to the general office to be pass to the teacher?
If it's not too rush for u, better to check w form teacher 1st as urs will b setting precedence.
Perhaps something that ur dd can manage to lug to class on her own rather than troubling office n teacher? E kids usually will distribute e goodies themselves when FT said it's time. I told ds to give out by groups so that it will minimize disruption.

Ds still gave out his during p2 but didn't want to in p3 anymore. In fact, only received once this yr! I think some prefer to host parties instead.

Scholarship is different from bursary. Top 25% in P5 & 6 can also qualified for bursary, provided total household's income is less than $2500 per month. Top 10% of P5 & 6 will be qualified for Edusave Scholarships. P2-6 can also look forward to Good Progress Award.

Actually I stopped giving party favors this year but then subsequently her classmates give out the party favors and there is one who even give the birthday girl smiggle products. I nearly fainted when I heard that.

Don't want to accidentally step on teacher's toes mah.. 😜

Does that means i have to call up the school on the second day to check and at the same time check who is the form teacher so that can email them and ask?
very troublesome loh plus ya don't want to accidentally step on teacher's toes on the start of the school. Think will give out in P2 only and after that just close one eye open one eye for any birthday favours.
