Is it better to start an active 4yrs old boy in a group piano or individually?

This question has been asked before so you may want to do a search through the thread. But to repeat the previous answers, it depends on the boy himself and the level of commitment of the parents.

If the boy displays a liking towards the instrument, can sit still and take instructions, can clap and sing in tune reasonalby, and parents are willing to assist practicing at home, then individual piano lesson can be considered; though it may be a bit hard to find teachers properly trained to teach this age group.

If not, then group music lessons are good avenue for your boy to develop his foundations and music appreciation first.

But if your daughter is already ready for grade 3 exam, why still need teacher? Just continue practising and sit for the exam would be fine.

Think most likely what the parent meant is that the daughter did well for grade 2 piano exam and want to attempt grade 3 next year.
