Actually I read somewhere in this thread that have to bring to general office to pass to the teacher.wanted to ask my girl to distribute but worried that she might get reprimand by the new form teacher. Actually I stopped giving party favors this year but then subsequently her classmates give out the party favors and there is one who even give the birthday girl smiggle products. I nearly fainted when I heard that.
If it's not too rush for u, better to check w form teacher 1st as urs will b setting precedence.larkspur:
Hi,
Need to check with the parents here. My girl's classmates have been giving out party favours during their birthday and my girl's birthday falls on the first week of January and i am not sure if i can prepare some simple birthday favours for her whole class. Her P1 teachers this year are okay with the birthday favours but not sure starting P2, the teachers will be unhappy about it? If I want to give, do i have to bring to the general office to be pass to the teacher?
Perhaps something that ur dd can manage to lug to class on her own rather than troubling office n teacher? E kids usually will distribute e goodies themselves when FT said it's time. I told ds to give out by groups so that it
will minimize disruption.
Ds still gave out his during p2 but didn't want to in p3 anymore. In fact, only received once this yr! I think some prefer to host parties instead. -
Thanks for sharing and congratulation..
You got the bright girl... :salute:larkspur:
My girl maths and Chinese are on the high 90% and English on the high 80%.
Edusave Merit Bursary (EMB) is for child who is within the top 25% of each level in his school.amk:
Also recently my girl received a certificate of academic acheivement for being the top 25% for P1 in Nan chiau primary and this is sent out from the sengkang grassroot together with the application form for bursary. However i think the application form for bursary is tied in with cap in the monthly household income so i dun think we are eligible for the bursary. Just to check if this certificate is given to all children in the same level like top 10%, top 15% all the way until top 40%?
Gross monthly household income must not exceed $5,000 or per capita income is not exceeding $1,250 (computed based on the gross monthly household income divided by the number of household members).
$200 for Primary 1 to 3

Btw, care to share you girl's score? High 90%?
Thanks. -
Oh, is it? Maybe different teachers, different styles, so best to check w teacher since u r 1st 1 in e year.
Don't want to accidentally step on teacher's toes mah..

Does that means i have to call up the school on the second day to check and at the same time check who is the form teacher so that can email them and ask?
very troublesome loh plus ya don't want to accidentally step on teacher's toes on the start of the school. Think will give out in P2 only and after that just close one eye open one eye for any birthday favours. -

i used to buy those character cards and teach her the chinese characters in k1 and K2. Hanyu pinyin is taught by her children in in K1 and K2. I also make her read short chinese story book with me every night when still in childcare cos i was horrified at one point that she cannot read a simple chinese book as her childcare focus a lot on han yu pin yin. So i have to read together with her and teach her how to recognise words. She does not have tutition for chinese and english. I did send her for p1 preparatory class for English though in K2. The only tutition she has is for Maths as i want her to revise her maths regularly. -
1st few days r class orientation so e mood shld b quite relax, mayb ur dd can just raise e topic w FT?Something along e line that \"my bday is on xx jan, may I bring some goodies to give to e class?\" n see how teacher respond?
They r no longer p1 kids, no need everything we parents check w sch le. :rahrah:larkspur:

Alternative is to distribute the goodies bags during recess. Usually from P3 onward no one will bring goodies bags anymore.
