Hi,

Anyone know how Nan Hua selects the students for TAG Class? Is it based on P3 school academic results? Example top 5% will be qualify for P4 TAG class?

From what I know it is based on the GEP test, went through the first round but not able to go through the second round.

This is what happened to my boy, he is going to TAG next year, joining to GEP students in some of the classes.
Civics and Moral Education, Research Education, Higher Chinese will be taught using the GEP syllabus. There is a Computer Enrichment Programme too.

Thanks. So will TAG and GEP students taking the same exam papers as the mainstream students in P4 and P5?

I am not sure, sorry. But I think TAG students will be taking the same exam papers as mainstream after all they are not in the GEP classes.

TAG 1 will take mainstream papers while TAG 2 & 3 (the 2 GEP classes) will take GEP papers which are the same for all 9 GEP centres.

MOE will do the selection. In the past, the ratio for HA:GEP is 1:1. At the moment, it is 1:2. So each year about 25 students will qualify for the HA class and 50 for the GEP class. From what I know, student who don't make it to the 2nd round of GEP selection can still be selected. I am not sure about student who make it to the 2nd round and did not get selected. I think it is possible. There should be more than 25 students making it to the 2nd round.

The HA students will have E, M and S in their TAG (strictly HA; stictly GEP) class and the rest of subjects with their form class (HA + GEP).

The GEP exam papers are from GE Branch. As for HA, their EMS will be the same as mainstream but their HCL will be the same as GEPpers.

You know that yr kid is in tag class next year alrdy? Was it by post? From what I understand from the teacher, the kids will only know when school reopen.

I guess my boy is not being selected since we did not receive any notification.

yes, they already mail us the letter and we signed and returned. All form must submit before 5/12.

Hi! My child’s entering P1 at Nan Hua Primary next year, and he’s interested in participating in Table Tennis. Could anyone share the training days/times for table tennis forward going…heard they train 3 times a week?
