Yes there are 2 classes that offer Normal Chinese.
Weak in Chinese students won't feel out of place. In fact, the learning environment will help those not doing HMT to improve.
O Level track girls can apply to the new JC through Merits only, unlike the IP students who will hv direct entry.

If i am not wrong, SNGS have affiliation to the new JC. you can verify with the school[/quote]You can deduct two points if you put CJC as your first choice, I think. Only for CJC. It's in the student's diary.

Just like to know, do the Sec teachers really teach at St Nicks Sec and if most of their students go for tuition? As much as possible, I want to have no more tuition when my DD goes to secondary, I want her to study independently.

Studies really tough these days in Sec sch.[/quote]Lower sec is still easy. Go upper sec start doing 9 subs is when it becomes really tough.

Yes, the teachers in St Nicks do teach The girls are also given hmwk for further prac, your girl can go without tuition if she is discipline enough to complete all hmwk given. One has to be self motivated and discipline in order to perform well.

I am from st nicks, entered in sec 1 and now waiting for o level results.

These 4 years I have never ever regretted coming here even though it was my 2nd choice, 1st dunman high. I am actually thankful that i didnt get into dhs! haha. The school culture in st nicks is just so vibrant and loving. The girls are very accepting and I found friends easily, there is no discrimination based on family background, wealth or results at all! Triple science girls have good friends in the normal chinese class, everyone I know just mixes and never judges each other. Some indian or eurasian girls who take chinese and came here also have no problem fitting in, in fact they are celebrated for their differences and they share with us their culture. I have never been happier going to school everyday despite living really far away and having to travel 2h by bus back home, it's so nice when you enter the classroom in the morning and your classmates smile at you and say good morning, when you pass your friends in the corridor and it's just so happy and smiles all around everyday! When you are feeling down, the girls would always be so concerned and caring, you will feel so loved
As for workload, I personally find it manageable, as long as you do your part, pay attention in class and complete homework. Everything will be a breeze! The teachers are very willing to help, in fact they would pester us to meet up with them to clarify our doubts or for extra practice. If there's anything you don't understand during lesson, the teachers are so sweet and more than willing to stay back and help if you just ask! So I feel there is no need for tuition Also the girls here are very kind and helpful, not competitive at all, we always ask each other for help in school work and everyone helps one another. During the days nearing o level our phones was frantic with all the pictures of questions we would whatsapp each other asking for help, the questions would circulate until some smart girl solved it and the solution would go all around again! I could not have got through it without my classmates and friends, who are so unselfish and never just think of only wanting themselves to do well, and I am so grateful! If you ever need extra help, you will receive it here. The school also has lots of resources, and they are not only given to the top classes or what. I am in one of the weaker classes but I have never been slighted by the school or my school mates and have had my fair share of enrichment classes! In fact, the school teachers put in a lot of effort to help weaker students
The principal is also fantastic, she is always, always trying to make school better for all the students, and is very approachable
All in all, st nicks is a wonderful place to be, I always feel so safe, happy and loved at school

Wa...glad u had such wonderfull 4 Years in St Nicks.
Always heard scary stories from other people's friends abt the stress level...
You mentioned abt the 'Principal' being fantastic ... Is she the ex-P or current one?
