Understand. Not targetting at you - I actually pounded on the keyboard my response to Limlim's post, trying to pinpoint the loop holes,concern2:
Wah, so fast reach the evaluation stage alreadi? Can we cook up more ideas first and suspend from judging at this point? This way, we encourage more ideas, no matter how crazy and wild they may sound. The best ideas are often borne from the craziest of ideas. Let's laugh with instead of laugh at the ideas, can? Let's say about at least 20 ideas? Is this too many? (personally, I find this number too small) Let's see how creative Singaporeans can really be. :rubhands:
Sorry, you got me wrong. I'm not laughing at the idea or any idea for that matter. I'm merely putting in writing my thought process as I rationalize these ideas which are being proposed...
only to withdraw at the last minute so as not to dampen the spirit of creativity and imagination - something that is highly lacking in our society.
I realised that Singaporeans are often too quick to put down ideas, too critical, too practical and too pragmatic, often at a very early stage of IDEA CREATIONS that in the end, nothing creative ever comes out, nothing gets resolved, no action is taken, and we go on with life, hoping someone else will solve OUR problems. Sometimes, it is better to carry forth a crazy idea and make it even more crazy, and kaboom - something emerges that no one had ever thought about, and not ONE person could have thought about alone.
I am just taking some initiatives to hopefully start a brainstorm session - not really thinking that we can help solve the problems, and come up with some solutions within this forum, but to start people thinking (hopefully) and becoming more creative and positive, less finger-pointing (whichever side you are on). Of course, along the way, getting some good medicine for the day - laughter
(In any case, I also found your comments funny

From the response, it probably won't draw many contributors anyway

We should have morning peak hours designated cabin for high traffic stations eg. City Hall and Raffles Place. Nobody will be reluctant to move in as everyone gets out in the same stop.
But will it has any security implications? or there will be adequate security measures to justify this implementation? Imagine a bomb is placed in one of these cabins..... in a way it means the extermination of people with a common profile. :siam: -

I see what you are trying to drive at, but don't quite get the idea -
you mean lIke say, naming all the cabins 1 to X (sorry, how many cabins on MRT har? 6?), then, make announcement that passengers are recommended to take e.g. cabin 1 to 3 if they are heading to City Hall and Raffles Place? How will that improve efficiency and keep fares constant? It certainly sounds like at least there will be less shoving in and out of cabins - something like what limlim has suggested, everyone move in one direction only - yes?
Like a river flowing in ONE SINGLE direction efficiently into the sea?
Come to think of it, the MRT track is like a river that picks up debris (
we humans are the debris) along the way, depositing them here and there...

West bound train…
"If you’re not alighting before cityhall, please move to the front or rear cabin…"
sounds fine to me…
it’s like "stand on left of escalator" message… quite successful… isn’t it? -
just increase the speed will do. Revamp the tracks, use better metals.

Not making a cost-saving suggestion, it's a response to limlim's idea on cabin without door.
