Of course you don’t NEED to.

It’s a matter of personal choice, I personally use a bag from zinc that has lasted me 2 years and is still in good condition.

School bags these days are really expensive!

Especially those ergonomic ones… I’ve looked at some of them (the shop at suntec) and the bag itself already weighs > 800g… plus the school books, will the kids be able to carry them?

Can buy the popular bookshop bags when they are on discount. But yes, very heavy bags. I feel v sorry for my kid. Some kids use trolley bags instead but you will have to consider going up staircases and the constant strain on one side of the body.

Hi all, I bought a hard cover impact ergo bag but thot it is way to bulky for p1 cos not many books to bring. Any idea if impact junior is enough for p1? Thot is is quite small though. Really dilemma. Went to see SPI. Quite big also. Bags should be just 10% of my kid’s weight but the impact bag already 1kg. Meaning only .5kg of books? Any p1 parents to advice. Providing dimensions of bag will be good.

Impact junior ergo bag is good for p1 to p2, mei mei used it till p3, durable but trade in at 20% at their marina square shop, upgrade to their new model at $64 after discount, i saw passion card can also get 15% discount too…anyway the new bag is very light and able to accommodate mei mei f4 file. We saw some German bags, X price but not bad in looks however too bulky and heavy for us

try Dr Kong’s ergo bags… it’s not the hard cover bulky type. and it comes with nice designs… bought one for my daughter… inside the bag, it has a compartment for slotting files… and at the sides, you can put a water bottle.

can consider Deuter also, but about $20 more expensive… i like these 2 brands cos they are not the hard cover bulky type…both come in a few sizes too. I think Dr Kong’s bags are lighter.

Oh Yes, just like the impact, not bulky type, I weight the impact bag we bought, it’s only 850gm. How heavy is dr long and deuter? Did u weight them also?
