DD’s school is using Perfect Match. The info in it is really not sufficient.

Agree. Textbooks are rarely sufficient. Exam questions are asking beyond the simple explanations in the textbook.

          Perfect Match is hopeless.

Daughter's school is using My Pals for science...but there is no indication to buy any activity books though. I just collected books today.
If her school prepared own worksheets to teach, then I will hold back tuition until P5. 🙏

I really don’t think tuition is needed for Science in primary school…

Personally I feel it is necessary unless schools teach students the skill to handle MCQ questions and open-ended. If kids do not have foundation, it will affect PSLE grades.

Agreed with janet. Younger son did very well in science in pri 3-4 but plunged in pri 5. found out from his teacher which I send him to now said that his answering is not the correct way of answering. He failed during CA1 and SA1, I was super duper worried, and quickly send him for tuition through my sis recommendation and he improved to band 2 when he had his SA2.

P3 and 4 is quite okay, but when to pri 5 and 6... Aiyo the way they answer the questions are all different already. But it also depends on their teachers in school too, Some teachers can teach very well. and they can grasp the concept easily

I am thankful I have only 2 kids...but already stretched since 2 years ago.
Now curious to know how daughter's school will be teaching Science...it's a new subject. Science shouldn't be tough if teachers are able to communicate and teach concepts sufficiently. As usual, the killer section is OE.
