Hi,
Can any parent please share on the differences between iSparks and other classes in terms of curriculum, pace and exams and what to expect when a student is in iSparks?
thanks -

Hi Yum Yum, according to Dr Hon, the curriculum are the same for all consortiums. Just that iSparks students will learn 40% deeper than the rest.Hi,

U mean the isparks will have different sets of notes and work fr the other consortiums? Wat abt tests, assignments and exams? Will they be the same across the level?

Not sure abt this. I remembered someone asked Dr Hon on iSparks curriculum during the parents symposium & this was what he reply. 40% deeper. Maybe the current iSparks parents can advise on this.
But 40 percent is a lot more. U mean the isparks will have different sets of notes and work fr the other consortiums? Wat abt tests, assignments and exams? Will they be the same across the level?
I also think 40% is scary but DS said that GE students have been taking higher level tests since primary school, so he accepts it. -
Hi, can anyone advise how long will the new students be staying at school on 20Dec-reporting ? Are parents supposed to stay or leave immediately? Tks.

iSpark actually does not have too much of a difference from the other 3 consortia. Tests might be slightly harder and expectations are higher. In fact, GEP tests are harder than the Sec 1 tests in iSpark. Still, at the end of the day, what is learnt is the same.
If your DS who was not from GEP is joining iSpark, there is no need to worry. Many of non-GEPers coming into iSpark still perform well, especially in the Lower Secondary level.
One thing to take note of (across all 4 consortia) will be the rise in the standard of the English curriculum. There is more need for in-depth thinking and understanding unlike the \"lifting\" comprehension back in primary schools.
Registration Day will be quick. Register> Purchase (Uniform, Books)> (Listen to AEP talk)> Leave.
If you are fast or have already bought your school supplies, you should be able to leave by 9.
