I am staying in Sengkang. My dd got 247, we put Cedar O level as 1st choice and Nan Chiau High as 2nd. I don't know should appeal Cedar or not. I know Cedar is better than NC but NC is really near our place, just 8 minutes walk away. DD is okay with both schools.

Can daddies & mummies here give us some advice?
Why never put CHIJ St Nicholas as 2nd choice? No harm appealing. Never try, never know. Cedar is definitely a better school. It is a band 1 school & affiliated to VJC. Btw, I am staying in Sengkang too, we put Catholic High as first choice & Nan Chiau as 2nd choice. We will try appealing first if can't get into CHS.

For parents of kids who are appealing, please note the following:

The COP only meant the last student who was posted into that school was at that T-score. It does not mean all with the same T-score will get into that school. Please note that last year for some schools, there were students with the same COP as that stated by the school / MOE who appeal and did not get in either. And I am not talking about those students who already had DSA offers who would definitely be outright rejected by the school based on MOE policy.

Not trying to "pour cold water", but rather to state a fact so parents / kids who are appealing to schools are aware there are such situation. It is always better to emphasize to the kid that appeal is just a hope at this moment. The reality is the school you are posted to, so you should put in the effort to learn about the school that you are posted to on the registration day (and learn to like it too!). If the hope becomes a reality, good for you. Otherwise, you have at least learn to like the school you are posted to.

tomorrow is the post result day. I want to appeal for Hwa Chong. I v put HCI as first choice, RVH 2nd and ACSI IP third. Then Catholic high IP, acsi o level, Nan Hua

              My son got 256+2 :snooze:

i plan to appeal HCI tomorrow. Is it ok tomorrow or must wait till 20 Dec? If go on Dec 20, must the student go to the appealing school too or just parents go is enough?
              thank u!

The child doesn't have to be there if I am not wrong. You should do it for your boy.

Won’t it be nice if MOE just post the kids accordingly to the nearest school from their home based on COP. Solve all the headache!

Got 258+2 and posted to DHS. How to appeal to my first choice HCI? Need to go to the school to take the appeal form? Fill in on the spot or can bring the form back ? Need to bring all my doc and cert along as well?

Call the school that you want to appeal.
Most likely you can download the form from School website and submit it online and then submit all hardcopy document to school general office.

Just curious, tomorrow when we go to the secondary schools, are the students supposed to wear their primary school uniform or home-clothes? 🤷
