Raffles Girls' School (Secondary) [*IP]
-
Hello! I'm glad to share with you that I've been posted to RGS but I have a few questions:
1) How long should the pinafore be? What about the culottes? Erm, my primary school allowed any length as long as it didn't look like a miniskirt nor a long skirt, but i don't know about RGS. tHats why I'm asking this stupid question.
2) What are we supposed to bring tomorrow?
Thanks in advance.

Our dd is also going to be part of Raffles family. We have received the posting results at 7.35am this morning.
Is it advisable to drive to RGS tomorrow morning registration? Is there parking lots available in the school or nearby parking space? or should we just take a taxi to the school. Any kind advice is greatly appreciated.

Does anyone know what is the reporting time tomorrow? Anything the girls need to bring along? Can we park in the school? TIA

8:30am is the reporting time. -
Hi PiscesDad,
You can drive there, but the parking lots within the school are limited, so chances are you'll have to park along Anderson Road or Ardmore Park, between specified lamp post numbers. I drove there last year for my daughter's Sec 1 registration and had to park along Ardmore Park; but I'm still glad I drove because the books and uniforms were really heavy and bulky. However, you don't really have to buy the books and uniforms on registration day--you can still get them the next few days if you want

Hi strangequark,
Thank you very much for your kind advice. Your information is very helpful & greatly appreciated. -
For buying books & uniform tomorrow can we pay by NETS ?

In case you do not want to lug the heavy books home tomorrow, you can order online from popular - the Sec 1 book list is already posted there.
Even the schoolβs examindation pads and exercise books can be purchased online, and you can also pay another $10 for them to deliver. Estimated time is one week for home delivery. I had done that and it is very convenient. They even match the book cover sizes for you so you can order all at the same time. -

1)Don't worry, when you buy your uniforms tomorrow, there will be student helpers there to provide you guidelines! Do remember not to pick blouses that fit exactly because part of the RGS uniform is the cool folded sleeves
So maybe get one with slightly longer sleeves for rolling them up!
2)Actually i can't remember. Don't worry though, it's just some briefings and buying of things. They won't ask for your PSLE certs or anything. -
Hi Choco85,
Can I check whether it is necessary to purchase the textbooks as I understand that some textbooks are not used?
Thank you. -
I have just checked with the admin office and was informed that we do not have to bring along any documents tomorrow. The gals just have to report at 8.30am wearing their primary school uniform.
