To my experience, 263 to appeal into RI will be placed in the last of the last class.
263 in ACS(I) would be in the top 2nd class.
Why you want to be the last???
The 6 year IP in RI is a new race, everyone will start from fresh.
how does RI place pupils into various Sec 1 classes ?
is it randomly mixed or go by COP results, ie. all the top scorers from all neighbourhood schools in SG are placed into one same Top class ?
example: > 280 entered Top class, those scored 270-279 enter 2nd top class.
can any RI parent comment ?[/quote]phtthp, I noted my 2012 Sec 1's is grouped based on similar COP results except for DSA and GEP. -

And it is indeed a new race as highlighted by nhps2012. Go for it

It depends. Do you prefer to be in the top of an average school or bottom of a top school? Just work hard & he will be able to transfer to a better class.

ACSI is not an average school by the way. Anyway, small fish in big pond sometime just mati. Although people say what matter is the water but I think it is about whether the school gives you opportunity to try. People like to invest in those that promise good returns so big fish always get the opportunities more. Small fish need more time and effort to show results, that's when becoming a big fish in small pond helps. The more opportunities you have in trying, the more confident and better you become. In secondary school, it's not all about doing well in studies anymore, one has to grow in confidence and self esteem by doing things to contribute to the school community.

Anyone can list down the secondary school the COP? Also it would be best to list the Band 1 to Band 9 since MOE no longer offer this information at all.
