Travel: Taiwan - Taipei
-
When I brought my kids to Taiwan. They were not interested in the sight-seeing and shopping in the city. However, they liven up when they saw the padi fields and farm animals in the countryside. :whut: I think it's cos they love to see something different. Have a nice trip.

I doubt my boys would enjoy the sightseeing or shopping in the city area. That's why we are doing a free & easy. Would be planning a farm stay with a chance to see snow. -
went last yr, dd enjoyed most at theme parks such as:
剑湖山世界 Janfusun Fancy World
九族文化村 Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village
Farm stay (can't recalled the name of the farm resort)

Not sure what is to your liking. Our family travelled (self drive) to Taiwan when the boys were about 3 & 5 and had a good time at the farm resort at YiLan, and Taroko Gorge, then drove over the He Huan mountains and stayed at Qing Jing (another farm there) and to Sun-Moon lake.Hi there,
My husband and I are planning to bring our 2 boys (5 & 3yo) to taiwan next Tue for 2 weeks. Any idea of some fun places that the kids can enjoy?
Musuems? Theme Parks?...
Around Taipei, moving around by public transport is easy, and people are friendly. Went up to Yeliu and WuLai (?) for the hotsprings.
Didn't go to the theme park though, but i heard some people like it.
Cheers,

Shangri-la leisure farm at Yilan is nice. Here's the website.

Ya...farm stay would be good experience for boys. Will look into these farm resorts and see if we can go to any cos we're flying off this afternoon liao.
My DH will be having meeting from 5-8 Feb, so we'll not be able to do much during those times, but will explore more before and after.
Keep the input coming and I'll try to access them in TWN!
Shalom!

That's the one. Don't forget to ask them for details of the short day trip/tour to the local tea plantation, where the kids can pick tea leaves and also learn to make mooncakes. They had a van to drive us down.Shangri-la leisure farm at Yilan is nice. Here's the website.

The Shangrila farm stay…is it far from taipei? How do we get there?
Is it worth the experience to stay in the farm?
thanks!! -

It's probably okay for a two nights stay if you want to have a bit of fun with the kids. We went there on our own, and explored at our leisurely pace. Visited the tea plantation at the bottom of the hills, and learnt to make mooncakes with the kids.
We saw tour groups that came in the evening, rushed through the activities and left early next morning.... not my kind of trip, esp with kids.
Cheers,
Chubby
