A parent must be there too. I heard that some parents are called in to join the interview.

But RI do not has an interview, do not know why.

My son's result: 263+3
Too bad, 3 points are excluded.

I have appealed for my son. And his sister is studying in RI year 6.

How much is the chance?

If she is getting through by CCA, she must be prepared to be asked about her CCA. But normally, they will ask her about general questions.

If she is getting through by CCA, she would have to go through a trial, an example being the child appealing through CCA for Track and Field would have to go through several assessments, evaluated then picked to take up the spot. However, do note that this would be the CCA she would be required to take. I am unsure if there is an interview or if you are able to appeal through a Performing Arts CCA.

An official reply from Ministry of Education on DSA appeals. This new policy was introduced by new Education Minister Heng Swee Keat, an old Rafflesian. A parent passed us this email which I have edited for brevity and privacy.



Dear Parent,

I refer to your email in which you requested for your daughter to be transferred to Raffles Girls’ Secondary School.

We have given careful consideration to your request and regret to inform you that your request for a transfer is unsuccessful.

We have received many similar requests for transfers from students who accepted DSA offers from other schools. The MOE policy on DSA transfers is clear. Once a student has accepted a DSA place offered to her by a school, she must remain committed to that school, in the same way that the school must honour the offers it makes to the students. Transfers are only permitted in cases where there are extenuating circumstances such that the student can no longer fulfill the commitment which forms the basis of the DSA offer.

We understand that as parents, you wish the best for your daughter. We also appreciate that you would also want your daughter to experience the Raffles education.

We wish her all the very best and have confidence that she will continue to learn and thrive in her assigned school.

This letter was for last year or this year? Im surprised if its for this year because the front desk would / should have rejected the appeal submission after asking if the applicant had accepted a dsa offer. By the way, this letter was from the school, not moe

Hi, Mass appeal exercise is handle by the school. MOE is not involve unless its deal to special reason such as medical reason etc...

You can try to appeal to any schools u want(more than one school), the criteria the school will take into consideration are the PSLE T score, CCA achievements and availability of places.

I have submitted an appeal based on medical reason. Will MOE assigned me to a sch which I didn't appeal to because of medical condition, if so, can I reject the result?
