My DD who's in P1 this year had an English textbook (at least 1). However, her P2 booklist for 2013 does not. Per the lady at the bookshop, the school does not require the girls to buy any English textbook. So my guess is that the school is going to rely on their own worksheets + other materials.hi dads & mums
We went for the P1 orientation last week and bought the P1 books on the same day. I looked through the titles and I have a qn: Why is there no textbook for English? How is English taught in P1? Would appreciate if existing parents could share their knowledge!

Well, parents are invited to participate in school celebrations like Chinese New Year & National Day. There will be several performing arts days and talks for parents of the respective levels that parents can attend. Then there are the Sec sch Open House (in May), SCGS Family Day, SCGS Carnival, Peranakan Nite ... This list is not exhaustive. Do Check out the school's website for the dates of these events. -

I read somewhere in this thread that text books will be kept in class. So this means my P1 dd does not need to lug a big bag to school?
