Thanks Choco05 for your explanation. May I know the food offered in the canteen and how much allowance per week is enough for their breaks?

Regarding String Ensemble CCA audition and practices, just wondering if the kids have to bring their own instruments or use the school's ? Dd said she will only audition on the violin as she will not carry her cello to school. This is sad as we both prefer the soothing sounds of the cello to the violin, of late.
For the audition, do they need to bring copies of their exam certs (we'll need to search for them  ) and list down past performances ? Two contrasting pieces and a sight-reading pc or will anything do ?
I'm so praying dd will not have to join UG after I saw the muddy school field.
Oh God, the shoes, socks.......... I know I am shallow but I'm the house-maid! -

I'm not very sure about strings, but most ccas like band with huge instruments have a storeroom for their instruments~Regarding String Ensemble CCA audition and practices, just wondering if the kids have to bring their own instruments or use the school's ? UGs don't march in the field, but mostly around the netball court area btw. -

Some UGs usually use the amphitheater area I think, and GB / NCC uses the netball courts. NCC also does runs around the track, they don't use the fields

The only CCA that uses the field, I think, is a sport (softball)

Also, re: the instruments, I'm not exactly sure about Cello but I know for sure many other instruments need to be brought to school every practice, such as Violin and Viola (Strings) and Guitar (Guitar Ensemble)

Handbells are provided in school. For Band, certain instruments you'll take home to practice, and you can bring them back by un-assembling them and packing them into little compact cases then re-assembling them
Chinese Orchestra has larger instruments also, such as the yangqin, and there is a school set of instruments that you can use, and then practice on your own one at home
I think this similar arrangement is also made sometimes in Guitar, etc. so you may try it with the Cello if you've got your own Cello at home
Do note, however, that the quality of school instruments may not be as good, so you may still be lugging the Cello back and forth for performances and important pracs and the like
Still, it beats having to do that every practice. (And it is pure speculation about using school Cellos, but it's done with a few other instruments so maybe, plus I've never seen anybody lugging such large instruments around)

Is $6 a day enough for breaks and lunch excluding EZlink card?

Definitely! Unless your appetite is super big and you love the school bookshop too much. -
Hi, Iβm starting at RGS next year. I just want to know if I can join fencing without any prior experience, cuz it sounds interesting but i havent tried it before.

Ha ha, Iβd seen from this thread somewhere that the bookshop is a very βdangerousβ place to visit cos youβll surely come out buying somethings. Maybe shld cut down expenses to $5 daily instead!
