Last year when i travel to Hokkiado Free and Easy with DH and 2 kids. S$2K was not enough at all. Maybe you might want to change a bit more, or you can bring some Sing Dollars to change at the hotel you stay in. -

Hi auntieM
The nearest Ski Resort to go from Tokyo is Appi Kogen Ski Resort.Bought my 2 kids there in 2010.
Take a shinkansen from Tokyo station to Morioka station ( 2 Hours travel time). From there, there will be shutter bus to the resort. The Resort is only open in Mid Dec. There is a kids area where kids are being look after. -
Thank you BBEwee.. ..will find out more..
Just realised there is a Legoland Discovery Centre in Tokyo.. DS is elated de..
Think DH still looking at hotels.. :faint: -

Thanks BBeWee for the information. Will change about S$3K, gotta factor in the tour leader and driver fees as well. Thanks again -
Snowed yesterday in Nagano and all perfect for skiing today. Just slightly more than an hour away from Tokyo on Shinkensen. Most ski coaches are Australian so taking lessons not a problem.. ..
As for Disneyland and Disneysea.. ...do not attempt on weekends.. The queues are really :faint: -
Cultural values of Japan are very strong.IF you pay a visit to this county then you will get a vision from this land. That is why i use to say this a land of vision. After 1970,Japan was the country who gave a challenge to westren world and introduced the new ideas like TQM and continuous production in business.
Nature of Japnies native do not let you feel that you are outsider here. -
We went Niseko, Sapporo this year. Kids had a great time with ski and playing with snow. The scenery was really fatalistic. We also enjoyed the onsen.
Hopefully, we will be able to come back again. -
Hi we are considering to go Tokyo Disneyland sometime in May before the school holidays with our 2 active kids (6 and 3). Hope fellow KSP can give some advise.
Is it better to book with agent or book from various website ?
Is it easy to get around by ourselves ? We donβt intend to travel much, 1 or 2 days in disneyland / sea, do some shopping and relax.
Is 6 nights too much if we are not going to venture out ?
TIA -

If you are visiting the disneyland and disneysea, I would suggest you do a 2 day trip.(1 day for Disneyland and 1 day for Disneysea)
I felt 6 days is fine to travel in Tokyo, not too much at all .
As for whether to book through agent or various website ,it is all up to you.
Getting to the hotel from the airport is quite easy, they have airport limo just outside the airport to bring you direct to the hotel. -
Hi BBEwee, thanks !
We will look at 2 nights in disneyland & sea, 1 (2) night in Hakone and then 2 (3) nights in city. Will check with JTB also. -
Hihi
I will like to check how fellow KSP settle the luggage at disneyland as the hotel check in is 3pm and any comments on shinjuku Washington hotel?
How to go hello kitty land from shinjuku?
Will we get to see cherry blossom in 1st week of April?
:thankyou: in advance -
If youβve been to Osaka, can share which hotel is nice (near and easy access to shopping arcades and subway station?) and not too expensive? Should I be worried about the radiation from Fukushima nuclear plant? I know itβs quite far away and itβs been quite some time, but I read somewhere that radiation will linger for decadesβ¦not sure how true it is?

1) Appreciate a heads-up if there is any promotion of airfares to Tokyo in late Oct, please.
2) Anybody stayed in a ryokan which has a fantastic view of Kawaguchi-ko and Mt Fuji, please share more info.
Thank you. -
Our family stayed in Sunnide Resort hotel with gorgeous view of lake kawaguchiko & mt Fuji from our room. The experience was memorable. Even the Japanese dinner was marvelous.

We'll be travelling to Tokyo mid-June. Planning to have one day each for Disneyland and Disneysea... I hope one day each is sufficient.
For those who been to HK Disneyland, can you comment on both?
After Disneyland/sea, we will move to city area but have yet to make any plan. Any recommendation?
How about food? Any suggestion? I have 2 very picky boysI hope they will be ok with the food there.
Do they have tourist train pass?
Any other useful tips to share?
Thanks so much! -

HK Disneyland is small.
You can introduce sushi and sashimi to your boys. As they are fresh and delicious. I brought my older dd when she was 3yrs old, she loves it.
Yes there is Japan Rail pass. You need to purchase it in Singapore only in order to get the discount. If your kids are < 6, it's free. You can use this rail pass to travel from Narita to Tokyo city centre.
