Hi there! Induction is a ceremony where you are officially inducted or welcomed to the school. You'd go on stage and also put on your name tags which you have not received yet.

Yes I am a newbie to CGS…looking forward to the orientation. By the way, may I know what are the school hours like…at least next Wednesday, what time will school end? Are there still early days of school dismissal at 1.45pm?

Ummm…please bear with me for more questions, sorry:
1) Which ccas are twice a week and which ones are once?
2) Are there any house practice days too?
3) Are house practices also for non competitors?
4) When is sports day?
5) CIP involvement, are they usually during school terms or holidays?

Very new here. Just wondering what will be the benefit of taking HCL in IP since there is no need for -2 points unlike if one is taking the O level route?
Heard HCL is very tough and if other than the love of the language and there is no other benefit for IP student, thinking of dropping HCL and going for normal chinese.
Any suggestions and comments?

May I know how often you all use the notebook during lessons. Thinking to get a ordinary notebook for my girl but the battery can only last for about 2-3hrs, is that enough for a day? Many Thanks

Parents are encouraged to attend the induction, it's like seeing your daughter enter sec sch. Basically just go on stage, take pic as a class and get badge.

1) Our sports are 3x a week, performing arts are usually 2x, except band w 3x. Clubs are 1. I am not exactly sure. The sch will inform you thoroughly, not to worry.

2) House practices..... No...

4) Around term 3
5) there's a period in the schedule for CIP/ipw planning. Plan in school hours, carry out when u are free. Most do in holidays

Apparently it has no academic advantages. It helps you cultivate your love for Chinese. You take it up if you have interest

If clear hcl at year 4, can opt out of CL in year 5 and 6.
