Yes, I do had bad experience at Super.. At Far East 5th storey. The agent is useless and proud. They just passed us the bio data of the maid and aspect us to find information and negotiate with the maid directly during interview. My primarily requirement to the agent is to take care of the elderly. 5 out of 4 interviewed, 4 do not want to take care of elderly and one told me she expect the elderly to speak to her in English!! Their Maids expected salary is also super high, $550 to $600/mth with every sunday off and some even request for public holidays off!!! Just share with all my frustration...

I am still looking for a maid. Anyone has any good maid that you due to some circumstances need to transfer her? Or any good agency to recommend? .Please help
      :slapshead: me!!

        Hi all

My previous domesti helper who looked after my mother for 2 years and my father for 1 year would like to find a new employer. She is currently back in Indonesia since April. She is tall and honest. A very good maid can be trusted to look after the elderly and children. Some details about her below.

        1. tall about 1.6m
        2. honest
        3. reliable to look after elderly and children
        4. can cook simple chinese meal
        5. has went through caregiver course before.
        6. very patience
        7. good in housework
        8. can speak simple english

We could not keep her when my father passed on in April as we already have a maid and she would like to go back for a couple months.

Pls PM me if interested and also if anybody know the procedure to bring her in, pls share with me.

I looked at this thread because I was looking for a maid agency to handle the contract renewal for my present helper who is from Philippines.

Am horrified and disgusted by my fellow Singaporeans who talk about helpers like objects and products, classifying and stereotyping them from various countries. It’s ridiculous how arrogant such employers are to call another human being ‘ya-ya’ when it’s just basic human rights. What is so wrong in wanting a place to sleep in your own room? What is so wrong to want to have a regular meal in a day? What is so wrong to want to have a rest one day in a week to meet up with your friends?

There is something very wrong with employers having these expectations of helpers = slaves. It’s 2012 for goodness sake. OF COURSE helpers would rather work for Ang Mohs (because they are treated like humans in these families).
The best part is that all these complaints I am reading are made in a self-righteous tone.

I cannot help but roll my eyes at this ignorance. It is a sad day for Singaporeans. This is a new low. It’s really shameful.

To families wanting to hire a live-in maid, I am recommending my maid who has worked with me for the past 2.5 years (total of about 7 years experience in Singapore). She is great with kids and has taken care of my children very well. She cleans and cooks well. The reason that I am discontinuing with her services is because my mother will be coming over to stay with us and help out with the children. My maid is currently back in the Philippines to spend time with her children and I hope to help her find an employer who will appreciate her hard work. Please pm me if you are interested.
