They have P5 and P6 students- still in their classes this year. I think they have fewer students at Suntec because I heard they planned to close so they attached their students to their old staff teachers in various parts of the island. Then they decided not to close but did not want to be unkind to their former teachers and pull back their old students. Curriculum is good- useful and interesting

The teachers are the directors and manager of the old center. So I think they should be the best you can ask for when it comes to teachers. Hahaha. I think you should see the timetable for your classes.

Hi! The best way to contact them is using the [email protected] email address. I make all my arrangements with them through email. Their phone number/mobile is difficult to get through sometimes.
Can share their suntec address and phone number? I cannot find it on the website?Jackietang:
Hi everyone,
Creative Horizons has not closed down. It's still around- they moved to Suntec City this year and are still running classes from K2 to JC2.
I cut and paste the link from their webpage. This is the timetable.

Ms Nora is good- I find her firm and she makes her classes fun. There was never a problem taking my kid to class because she looks forward to the class. She teaches p2 and p3 I think. Ms Lindy Ong has a P3 class also. Very nurturing. Actually because we have done make ups in other classes I can say I don’t have a problem with any of the teachers in the center. They are all competent.

Ms Kaur, my son’s teacher, is opting to spend more time with family next year so Sat and Sun classes cannot do.
For me I will send the kids to Tanglin Creative Horizons anyway. Since I’ve been happy with the syllabus and teaching style it’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make. Distance from my home is one thing. I rather go to a place where I am assured for my kids’ learning though it takes a while more to get there than have one right where I live where I may pay cheaper fees or travel less but got no effect. Anyway, I’m glad at least the school cares more about who their hire, then at least whoever my kids get is good. -
RE: Any Recommendation of a Good Maid Agency
I looked at this thread because I was looking for a maid agency to handle the contract renewal for my present helper who is from Philippines.
Am horrified and disgusted by my fellow Singaporeans who talk about helpers like objects and products, classifying and stereotyping them from various countries. It’s ridiculous how arrogant such employers are to call another human being ‘ya-ya’ when it’s just basic human rights. What is so wrong in wanting a place to sleep in your own room? What is so wrong to want to have a regular meal in a day? What is so wrong to want to have a rest one day in a week to meet up with your friends?
There is something very wrong with employers having these expectations of helpers = slaves. It’s 2012 for goodness sake. OF COURSE helpers would rather work for Ang Mohs (because they are treated like humans in these families).
The best part is that all these complaints I am reading are made in a self-righteous tone.
I cannot help but roll my eyes at this ignorance. It is a sad day for Singaporeans. This is a new low. It’s really shameful. -

Dear junemum72…
CH has nothing to do with the two other centres you mentioned, so passing the dignostic test with them will be irrelevant to being able to cope with CH’s lessons. CH has its own diagnostic test which can help parents determine if CH will be helpful to their children or not.
For what CH does in class: Activities centered on the lesson objectives and then one piece of individual written work. Can be compre, compo, situational writing, cloze, synthesis and transformation. The lesson objectives are specific. For example, how to identify character traits in compre. Then the written work would be a compre where the students infer traits from behaviour, speech or body language. The programme is solid, in my opinion because it has clear structure and specific instructional objectives. They focus on ONE thing at a time but make sure the kids understand that ONE thing, rather than squeeze the whole paper (Compre Compo Grammar) into ONE lesson and don’t touch on anything effectively at all. -

Hi- materials are crafted in house by former moe teachers and I know that one of them is the assessment book author as well. The primary schools use her book. Materials cover passages from books, in house essays and cloze passages by CH staff. There is a range of other media used like videos and audio CDs for listening. With the new syllabus coming up, the CH kids have been doing show and tell, reading aloud and even instructional texts.
