Hi!!!

It’s so nice to hear that many of you enjoyed the S1 orientation…unfortunately my daughter was unwell and she had to give the orientation a miss. She was so disappointed but thank God she has recovered.
I am wondering if your daughters were given any letter or information on:
1) what to bring on the first day of school
2) where to report to
3) what time will school be dismissed
4) anything else?

By the way we will be travelling via aljunied mrt and bus service 100, may I assume that we will meet many fellow cedarians and will not feel so lonely in the mornings?

Will the side gate be opened?

Hello,first day should be nothing much.Maybe there's introduction so is better to wear uniform with pe attire underneath in case they have any activities.Reporting venue is hall.Dismissal time will vary. Hope my replies help.

1)First day would just be introductions so nothing much to bring. The respective subject teachers would tell them what to bring in the following lessons.

2)Your daughter will report to either the parade square or hall. There will be instructions through the pa system in the morning. Many of my classmates would head to class first before gathering for assembly. If unsure, approach any teachers or student leaders.

3)School should end by 1.35pm or 3.15pm if there's an assembly. Do tell your daughter to text you if there are any change in dismissal time.

Yes, both the side gates will be opened in the morning before school starts and after school ends.

Definitely, you will meet many cedarians on bus 100. Many of my friends take that bus to school. I hope your daughter will have an enjoyable first day

Wear your school uniform. They will inform you to wear your pe attire if need be, but usually, no. Just bring along your pencil case and the usual. Don't worry too much! Hope you'd have a good first day!

Hi melteo, to answer some of your questions:

The first day of school will be a second orientation conducted by the seniors who have just graduated from Cedar. There will not be lessons and your daughter does not have to bring any books. So she can just bring writing materials, waterbottle, ex-link card, Napfa results (photocopy), etc. She can go to check her class at the general office and then report to her classroom, or courtyard, depending what time she arrives. The class prefect will go to their classes to call them to go to the courtyard. School will end at about 2+ (not too sure about that. You might want to call the school to clarify.) She will need to wear PE attire and skirt.

For the rest of the questions, I think Individualist has answered them sufficiently.

Hello parents,school is starting in a week time.I guess is time to start letting your dd learn to wear double layers (2 shirts) at home so that they can adapt to the heat when school starts.As heard from my dd,most students will start wearing their uniform with a shirt (mostly pe attire) inside in secondary school.My dd is starting this practice tomorrow so wonder if any parents will agree and follow my saying.

It is not really allowed to wear double layers in Cedar, some teachers may or may not accept it. It is not explicitly stated in the school rules though.
