I went to pick up my son. Yah, there was a human jam at d gate. But the problem was caused by the boys in the higher levels. They were cutting queue by the side. Once the teachers realized the problem and scolded them and chased them to the back the queue was moving.

From what I have seen, this was not the case. I overheard a teacher telling the P2 children to move towards the bus stop. Some of them were looking for their parents/caregivers while some were lost not knowing what to do amidst the noise and crowd.

Yes, its totally chaos during today's dismissal. Many contributing factors: common dismissal time instead of staggering dismissal, KS parents standing right in front of the gate (as many parents&caregivers are being told that their child will ONLY be released when the FT sees the students parents/caregivers), narrow pathway, scorching sun and inconsiderate parents who left their vehicles' engine on... which contributed to the heat at this area.

Totally empathised with parents/caregivers who brought young children. Parents/caregivers can/may we do our part by being gracious to stand alongside the pathway so that there should be movement of flow instead of jamming at the gate front??? Can the School look into deploy someone immediately to manage the crowd??? I saw many parents and students having no place to manevuer, they went down the side onto the road. Extremely dangerous... mishap might just happen when you least expected it. The air circulation is bad too.

The jam was finally cleared by the efforts of teachers (Mdm Seow and Mr Chan Jianhua) but I was at the same time aghasted to see teachers of managerial level on the bystand looking on the commotion w/o rendering any assistance to their fellow colleagues :slapshead:

I couldn't imagine how will the mess would amount to during rainy days.

Yup. All levels were released at the same time causing a jam at the narrow gate. Plus inconsiderate parents hovering around the gate refusing to move an inch for the students to get out. I was standing afar and could hardly see my kid. Only manage to see her close to 2pm.

Anyone picked up your child this afternoon? Total chaos with all the students being dismissed at the same time. The school experimented with a single session day on Friday whole of last year, yet I doubt they obtained any learning points going by the chaotic state of affairs earlier this afternoon.

My children they were stuck at the Bt Purmei gate for 10 minutes before they could get out of the school.
                  :stompfeet:

The school needs to do something about it.

Should have upgrade the gate make it wider since the school undergone upgrading. I notice Fairfield thier gate width quite big. Looks like the school need to stagger the dismissal time. Tomorrow at 2pm, with again the delay the poor child can only have meal as High Tea. 3pm then reach home. :frustrated:

I think KS parents must understand that who dont treat their kids as gems?

my DS take school bus so I nv notice the human jam after school but I did witness some parents being so kiasu during the P1 recess… and Poor kids from P4 who are suppose to be buddy with them…

I saw some parents + grand parents scolding the P4 kids for not following their DS n DD and for not helping to carry the bowl of food for the P1…

                    Im speechless…

Nevertheless Im amazed on how the Form teachers will intro and let us have their hp to ask them questions.

Must ask my boy whether he was one of those who got scolded yesterday.

Much much worse than what you witnessed yesterday.

This is what I witnessed last year. On rainy days, parents/caregivers brought umbrellas with them. However, all the umbrellas seemed to be defective the moment they reach the school. Everyone scrambled to stand under the shelter even though they had their precious umbrellas with them, staying as close to the gate as possible. In the end, even students who came out first had difficulty walking out of the crowd. The ripple effect caused students at the back to be held up. It was really challenging for the students to find a way out.

I think it will be even worse this year.
