      KSP:
HCL only started in P2 during dd's time. Maybe it has changed now.

Btw, there is no exam for P1/2, so there is no papers available out there.
think maybe during your time P1 still CL - because HCL started only from P2.

yes currently, no exam for P1/2.
but we can buy RGPS Exercise and Test papers for P1/2, from Bras Basah complex.
Last Sat saw 2012 Chinese papers out for sale. (hot from oven)
From there, roughly can gauge which particular area(s) our Chinese department tend to focus / test on.

      for 2012 P1 Chinese paper(s) -
Total got 18 regular class exercises to practise, plus 4 Chinese Tests (set at interval, throughout P1 Term 1 to Term 4)

if you examine content from that 2012 P1 Chinese paper purchased -
seems like Chinese dept like to test on \"bi hwa\" (sequence of writing out strokes), \"bian pang\" (purposely throw out a few bian pang, see which one will your child choose ? ie. is she able to pick out the correct bian pang), \"zao ju\" (re-arrange mixed up words into one full, proper sentence construction), \"lang du\" (they want to hear your child's fluency & child's confidence in reading aloud, ie. able to read a given passage fluently, without stopping to hesitate, pause for a moment. When come to \"lang du\" passage, they want to hear a loud, clear voice, not a small shy voice lack confidence), vocab, etc. Let your girl practise more now at home.

for han yu pin yin (hypy) -
ensure your child is able to articulate - at the correct, right pitch (out of 4 tone). Because once her articulation sound of the Chinese character is out of tune (ie. wrong pitch), her answer will automatically go wrong.

          for ting xie -
the child need to write down both the Chinese characters clearly, plus also the corresponding han yu pin yin sound to accompany it side by side, beside it. They don't want just write down the Chinese words alone. They want to test whether the child also know her hypy. There'll be a few regular ting xie sessions done. Then they'll choose the highest best score out of those few sessions taken, to accumulate towards the final year Total accountable score.

            Hi!

My girl is in P3. May I know if anyone has received the CCA confirmation letter? Is it possible for my girl to change her CCA now?
            Jen

Oh no, I'd asked her last year as well and she said she only saw the CCA list where her name is, but cannot bring back. 😞

Maybe you can ask the teacher in charge of the CCA you are interested to transfer your girl to if there is any vacancy available? If there is vacancy, i would think it might be possible.

                    Good luck πŸ™‚

My dd received a Maths Olympiad training form today. What advantage does taking part in the Maths Olympiad has? Can it be used for DSA admission?
