I think KS parents must understand that who dont treat their kids as gems?

my DS take school bus so I nv notice the human jam after school but I did witness some parents being so kiasu during the P1 recess… and Poor kids from P4 who are suppose to be buddy with them…

I saw some parents + grand parents scolding the P4 kids for not following their DS n DD and for not helping to carry the bowl of food for the P1…

      Im speechless…

Nevertheless Im amazed on how the Form teachers will intro and let us have their hp to ask them questions.

I couldn't imagine how will the mess would amount to during rainy days.

Much much worse than what you witnessed yesterday.

This is what I witnessed last year. On rainy days, parents/caregivers brought umbrellas with them. However, all the umbrellas seemed to be defective the moment they reach the school. Everyone scrambled to stand under the shelter even though they had their precious umbrellas with them, staying as close to the gate as possible. In the end, even students who came out first had difficulty walking out of the crowd. The ripple effect caused students at the back to be held up. It was really challenging for the students to find a way out.

I think it will be even worse this year.

Its very chan lor… these parents don even think that P4 are also kids… we shld encourage them to look after the young ones instead of scolding them.

Got one mum even accused the P4 kid for stealing her son’s 50cents and shouted at him in front of so many parents. but the P4 kid was so steady and said he will double check with the store auntie and TADA!! its the P1 kid who forgot to take the change. Instead of apologizing or just be quiet, the mum further accuse the P4 kid for not being "attentive" to her DS. I was so angry and voice out… " why not u ask a maid to follow ur DS better…" and the mum shut up… imagine how the P4 boy will feel?

You are wonderful.I don know whether my boy is one of them or not.I must say a big Thank You for your understanding n defending for him.You are right, those P4 students are helping out. They are not paid to do the maid job.Maid got scold, never mind as she had money. Those kids are just helping out with no pay.i know how worried those parents are, come on,I also been to their stage too.must learn to let the kid to be independent.how about the four days? Scold the teacher if she/he does not help them.i guess better remove buddy system to save scolding here n there.

This buddy scheme is a thankless job for the older students. All P4s had their recess delayed due to this buddy task yesterday and my boy's class only had 15 minutes for their recess. :gloomy:

Parents/caregivers/grandparents of those P1 children who think the P4 children owe their \"precious\" duty of care should, at the minimum, express appreciation to the older children. They are, after all, 9-10 year-old kids. Come one day, their \"precious\" will be buddies to younger children.

Of course, not all parents/caregivers are so mean. We have pisila86 as a good example. :celebrate:

                    Pisila86, well done!!!
Really don't know what these parents are thinking of. It seems that nowadays the more educated people become, the less culture he has. Of course I am not referring that all are like that. Like some of you have quoted the P4 kids are only there to assist them, not their maid. I told my DS to try to carry the food by himself tomorrow if he wants to order soupy food when he told me his buddy help him carry the food today. I tell him to ask and learn when his buddy is around. If the buddy is going to help them carry during these 3 days, then what is P1 kid going to do on Monday when no more buddy is around?

And forgetting to add that what goes around comes around. When their kids are in P4, how are they going to feel when their kids are being scolded by other parents.

Luckily, my boy wasn't scolded by the parents/caregivers of his buddy. 😉

Dismissal today was better. The security guards opened the gate that is located between the Bt Purmei side gate and the main gate.
