Dear parents, DD1 went on a "joyride" with the bus driver yesterday. We waited below the block for 1h30mins, not knowing that the driver actually stopped at the bus stop along the main road a few blocks away. He drove away with DD1 when she didn’t get off. (not that DD1 knew that was the stop). We finally got the poor child after calling the driver and gave him directions. I begged with the driver, owner and bus operator and none won’t accede to our request. The driver’s reasons was that bus stop was the only pick up point for parents around the area. Surely a school bus is supposed to drop off at the child’s home? Really disappointed with the bus company. The other bus drivers from other schools (HIPS, Montfort, OLN) all turn in to the block which is a designated drop off point and it is a much safer drop off point than the main road. I’m now looking for alternatives. Can I ask for some advice please? (She reached home at 150pm today)

Have you enrolled before? If not, you can PM me your details and I can add your name to the PSG list. There will be a welcome session coming up, yet to cfm the dates though.

Mine is ad-hoc since I have to work. Helped out in the P3/P4 sports day, Helped with one of the booths at the carnival (5 hours i think). Helped with making outfits for the P1/P2 girls for the teacher's day performance and guiding the dance steps. This were all done with several other really sporting mums. did the dance for Mrs Christina during the P3-P6 prize giving.

Helping recruit parents on Orientation Day!

they have other items such as Reading Mums who helps kid's with their reading and photography as well prayers

Hi kiss, can I volunteer my services for adhoc activities as well? I can only do part time as I am working full time. 😞

Also are most activities held on Sat morning? Reason being DD1 has classes on Sat mornings, should I change them to Sat afternoon or evenings?

If u hv tried talking to the school bus operator, but to no avail, try talking to Mr James Ong, PL's Operations Manager. He is the liaison for the school bus operators. Hopefully, he can help.

Sometimes, school buses takes a certain route depending on where the other kids taking the same bus live. I believe most will do their best to alight the kid at a safe spot. Letting kids alight at bus stops is a very common practice. I reckon it's quite safe as there is a proper bus bay. My kindy dd also alight at a (very busy) bus stop. I :stompfeet: as I hv to walk a distance to pick her up. Good thing they explained and I try to understand their constraints.

My dd1 at PL used to take school bus, reaching home at 2.20pm. On CCA days, she also take 'joyrides', going all the way to Bishan b4 heading home. Total journey is more than an hour. Bo bian lor 😢

              Hi kiss,

Can u kindly share more on your involvement/activities in PSG? Last year, I volunteered at my dd2's kindy. Thinking of volunteering at PL this year. Is there any 'criteria' to meet?

              TIA

Don't  that was great effort on the part of the PSG mums! :salute:

Thanks for the infor. Let me think about this a bit more as I prefer to volunteer for specific duties/activities instead of ad hoc ones.

                  Hi all,

Did any of you order the P1 books online from Pacific Bookstore? The time table for tmw lists that we have to bring "My Pals are Here!" Maths Textbook and Workbook. But the booklist given by Pacific Bookstore did not include this book. Instead, we were given "Shaping Maths".

So which is the right set?

                  Anyone knows?

My dd received time table today.
Do I follow the time table or the things to bring Frm the orientation?
Wat does EL (LSP), PAL, EL (English?) MA(Math?) means?

Hi, for PE days, just wear PE Tee and shorts. For lower primary, if I'm not wrong, they don't wear pinafore over PE Tee.

I think PAL doesn't affect the attire for the day, just follow the PE schedule.

                        Hi Waffzs,
your list is strange cos' I think PLMGS uses \"My Pals are Here\"... \"Shaping Maths\" is used by other schools I thought? Unless they changed this year for the P1s? You double confirm your list is for PLMGS Pri 1? Cos' Pacific Bookstore sells textbooks to many schools...
