Hello! šŸ™‚ after going to the CCA Orientation, I found that many CCAs interested me, but can any seniors recommend how many CCAs to try out for? What's the norm? Thanks! šŸ™‚

Um maybe 4-6? Although u can try out for more if u are worried that u won't get in...
Sometimes they also tell u if you've gotten in shortly after the trials (like 1 / 2 days later) so if u really want that CCA and you've already gotten in u can just skip the rest of the trials you've signed up for. Just email the teacher in charge šŸ™‚
Personally, I signed up for like 7 CCA trials šŸ˜› but since I had already gotten into my 1st choice CCA, I just skipped the rest of the trials haha šŸ˜›

Also, if u are interested in a CCA that can be counted as a merit cca (eg robotics, debate, etc.), u can have that as a 2nd CCA on top of ur core CCA šŸ™‚ u only need like 35% attendance for merit CCAs...

During the CCA Orientation they mentioned that the CCA selection result will only by out on 6th Feb & all the trails will be finished before that. So how to know if the first choice CCA has been approved and can skip the rest of the trails.
One friend from TAG scored 271...she is considered mainstream, I think. (I scored 270...ARRRGHH)

Hi, If your friend is confirmed a mainstreamer but in a GEP class now, then not all mainstreamers with above 270 t score (ie at least 271) are in GEP classes.

This means 271 is the cut off point for Mainstream High Scorer.
No, actually. I'm in jakaranda's class and I got 271 so this year's cutoff point shld be higher than that. 😢 FYI I'm not in gep

I am a bit confused here. With reference to Mr Choo's talk yesterday, it seems that there is no such thing as core and merit CCA anymore. At least it wasn't mentioned at all. Only 3 CCA (eg.library) can only be taken as a 2nd CCA.

Yesterday when we went round the CCA booth, some seniors didn't know the change (or was there?), but one girl was very confidently telling us that there is a change and every CCA, except for the 3, can be taken as a main CCA.

                Can anyone enlighten me?
Hi, as regarding the CCA trials, it has come to my attention that the cca website is not updated to suit the 2013 batch yet, anyone facing the same problem?

Ya, i think they hv not uploaded the info.

They haven't updated it since a long, long time ago. Maybe you can get your DD to check with the seniors for updated versions.
Thanks šŸ˜‰
