a lot of parents do volunteering work for the desired school that they want to enrol their child in. is this really a way to have a better chance of securing a seat for my child? heard that this volunteering-work system will be strike off soon, anybody heard of it?

yes some primary schools eg BPPS are doing away with PV for 2014’s P1 but not all following the same. MOE so far never mention of striking off PV. Which primary school are you looking at? it is best you call the school and find out.

            Dear Absolutewild,

Your contributions as a parent volunteer would be very much welcomed and appreciated once your daughter is enrolled into SCGS, or into any other school.

snap welcome to ks forum.... when is ur child registrating for P1? In 2014 I suppose. Then you hv to apply PV at PHPP by this year. The thing here is this - don't ask what the school needs, ask what can you do for the school. suggest you call up the general office to enquire the details 🙂

I was a successful PH PV a few years back. If sch said PV will start in dec this yr, think it's better to contact them a few mths before that. Within PH's immediate vicinity, there're several top-notch schs such as NHPS, HPPS & MGS. Further down the road, of course you have the venerable NYPS & RGPS. No harm applying to more schs to cast the net wider. Good luck.

Yup, he is. I'm a jack-of-all-trades, so those things I did were quite ordinary tasks. Anyone will be able to do them.
