Would YOU do their jobs for the salaries they are getting? Not that I'd ever get asked, but not in a million years, at triple their current pay. There are plenty of cut rate governments out there, cheap government not hard to find, good ones, on the other hand.....

I would do their job for 10% of what they are getting. And unlike the new bloods they are getting, I would not be getting a pay raise. Not that they will ever ask me, because I am not the kind of people they are looking for. I am not kuai kuai enough. 😉

Besides not kuai kuai, you really think you are up to it? You can imagine yourself interacting meaningfully with other world leaders at various summits? You can convince business leaders and investors to invest in Singapore? You can fly our flag high? Bet you don't know shanmugam's current pay is less than the income tax he paid before he became minister.

TAN KIN LIAN'S OPINION ON ALEX AU VS LEE HSIEN LOONG
Alex Au had made a statement somewhat along the following lines, \"if the the Attorney General Chambers and the Corrupt Practice Investigation Bureau are independent bodies, they should mount an investigation into the sale of the town council software to a company owned by a political party\". Some people said that this statement could be regarded as defamatory.

I do not understand why this should be the case; I consider it to be a fair statement.

I had met two Swedish public figures and told them about the background to this matter, shortly after they had read the news in the social media about the threat of legal action against Alex Au. Their first reaction was, \"This transaction would be considered in our country to be corruption\". I did not ask them to explain why this was the case; anyway, they are just expressing their opinion.

I have made several statements in the past that it is the duty of the Monetary Authority of Singapore and the Criminal Affairs Department to deal with the fraudulent investment schemes, rather than allow these schemes to be continued for years.

I considered that I was making a fair statement; although some \"tricky\" lawyer would write to me stating that I was alleging that these organisations were corrupt, or were neglecting their duty; and in so stating, I had damaged their reputation.

Fifteen years ago, in the course of my company's business, we received this type of \"tricky\" letter from a lawyer. It took a matter out of context (I forget the details of the matter) and twisted it to make several absurd interpretations followed by the usual bullying demands. We replied to deny all of these absurdities and followed up with a complaint to the Law Society against the unprofessional conduct of the lawyer. The Law Society did not pursue the matter; but the lawyer also dropped his demand. We did not really have the time to waste on these trivialities.

I know more about the property market in Singapore and what developers do than a certain person and his predecessor. 🦆

Anyway, haven't you heard? The latest EDB strategy is to convince business leaders and investors to invest in Iskandar.

Did I also mention I know what a 'conflict of interest' is? 😉

I also know that if \"assessing new software and actually developing a replacement system that would meet our new requirements would take time, maybe 18-24 months or even longer\", one does not enter into an agreement to sell and lease back that system with a clause that allows the other party to terminate the agreement by giving one month's notice.

And I also know that AIM's c/o address at Block 57B New Upper Changi Road #01-1402 happens to be PAP HQ. You should visit the place some time. It's quite nice. 😉

                Pirate :salute: ,

that is really like setting oneself up at an extremely risky position indeed...if the tender had really gone to an independent company.

                😉 😉 😉

                http://andrewlohhp.wordpress.com/2013/01/04/stop-being-so-childish-prime-minister/, LOL

Nobody ever believed there was corruption in the first place, most just wondering if the move was politically motivated. Why cant someone just answer the question directly? :scratchhead:

                Ju chong ju luan :slapshead:

                  Ok, let's talk about the \"fundamental point\".

If a critical system/asset takes \"18-24 months or even longer\" to replace, would entering into a sale and leaseback agreement of that system containing a clause allowing the other party to terminate the agreement on giving one month's notice be considered 'mismanagement'?

I dunno leh. I am obviously not in the Minister's pay grade. 😉

Now got news that it was WP that initiated the termination of contract. Strange... strange... :scratchhead:

More effort to get out there and be an entrepreneur and try and set up a business to feed the family and create economic value.
:scratchhead: ... Set up a $2 company then get incorporated in a year to become a S$1 million company! :siam:
.....Oh, I forgot, I have competition from Strparent whose startup is going to be $5... 😆

Which minister was an entrepreneur before he got selected into parliament?
